We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

 

Business: Equities X Asset Fin Tech

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Understand the Futures and Options business area and be conversant with and contribute to the strategy for the Global Futures and Options business within HSBC
  • Technical design, development, implementation and maintenance of DCS Strategy System to supported business units;
  • Design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into BigQuery.
  • Provide Production support to our Business Unit.
  • Prepare detailed specifications that describe input, output and logical operation; and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language;
  • Work with change business analysts and architects to define and plan the introduction of new systems or changes to existing systems.
  • Apply specialist expertise in the development of IT systems with the objective of optimizing operational performance and improving quality whilst increasing cost-effectiveness;
  • Supervise the rectification of production system issues with the minimum disruption to the business;
  • Develop an expert-level understanding of major local systems;
  • Assist ITSO, ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions, internal control standards and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behavior.
  • Support and guide new joiner to pick up system knowledge.

Requisitos

  • Proficient Java programming skills, familiar with cloud computing concepts and Google Cloud Platform services and have GCP certification.
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and optimizing ETL workflows using BigQuery.
  • Experience with SQL query optimization and performance tuning in BigQuery.
  • Experience to Optimize ETL workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Experience to develop and maintain scripts and procedures for data validation, cleansing, and transformation.
  • Experience to develop and optimize BigQuery schemas to support complex data modeling requirements.     
  • Experience to create and manage BigQuery datasets, tables, and views to store and organize data effectively.
  • Experience to write and optimize SQL queries for performance and accuracy.
  • Experience to implement data partitioning and clustering strategies to improve query performance and cost efficiency.  
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and the ability to leverage GCP services for data processing and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, IT architect, and business stakeholders. Fluent oral and written English is a must.

  • Good communication skills. Must be able to interact and work well with, vendors, futures business and other IT groups. 
  • There is a heavy emphasis on delivering projects/products globally so the candidate must be able to exhibit capability to work on global projects.

  • Must be highly motivated, self sufficient and have well developed organizational skills
  • Pragmatic, whilst remaining focused under frequently changing priorities
  • Proactive when handling problems and projects.

  • Exposure to all stages of the application development process/lifecycle.
  • Good capacity planning skills
