About the Role:

HSBC Thailand is seeking a seasoned and strategic Country General Counsel to lead its Legal function. This critical leadership role reports directly to the CEO of HSBC Thailand and serves as a trusted legal advisor to the HSBC Thailand Leadership Team, ensuring that legal, regulatory, and reputational risks are identified, escalated, and appropriately managed. The Country General Counsel is an integral member of  HSBC Thailand’s Leadership Team and engages with regional and global Legal counterparts.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Lead and manage the HSBC Thailand Legal team, ensuring delivery of high-quality legal advice across all business and functional areas.

·       Serve as a core member of the HSBC Thailand Leadership Team, contributing to strategic decisions and risk oversight.

·       Provide expert legal guidance on complex legal, regulatory, and reputational matters. 

·       Act as the accountable legal advisor to the CEO and senior executives for all material legal issues in Thailand.

·       Promote a culture of engagement, high performance, and ethical conduct within the Legal team.

·       Collaborate with regional and global legal teams on cross-border matters, risk reviews, and legal strategy.

·       Ensure the Legal team operates effectively as part of the second line of defense and supports business growth while maintaining appropriate risk oversight.

Requisitos

·       Qualified lawyer with strong academic credentials and legal qualification to practice in Thailand.

·       Minimum of 10 years' legal experience, including in a leadership role at a financial institution, multinational corporation, or top-tier law firm.

·       Proven ability to provide commercially focused legal advice and navigate ambiguity and complex legal and regulatory environments.

·       Experience engaging with regulators and managing high-impact legal issues.

·       Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and lead a high-performing legal team.

·       Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
