What you will do:
The role provides Corporate Sector Risk Managers with credit support for their sector-aligned credit risk matters, analyses and processes within the Credit and Capital Management Chief Operating Officer (COO) team. In this regard, alongside the designated Coverage teams, the role holder will assist with day to day risk management (renewals, new money) of a specified portfolio of existing clients, work with Corporate and Institutional banking functional teams as necessary to assist with new onboardings and work with local stakeholders and Credit and Capital Management Credit Analysis Unit (‘CAU’) offshore management to assist with the delivery of the Corporate and Institutional Banking credit portfolio within required timelines and quality. The role has no direct reports.
In this role you will:
• Provide the highest quality, forward looking and professional credit analysis and credit-associated tasks support to Risk Managers for the specific sector portfolio which either meets or exceeds HBSC standards.
• Prepare credit application for annual reviews and new money requests for large corporates customers. Collect all necessary information from public and internal sources or through Relationship Managers. Prepare customer background, sector and peer analysis, credit risk assessment including financial, environmental, climate or fraud risks.
• Proactive credit risk monitoring of the portfolio of customers with a view to anticipate any potential difficulties, in alignment with the Credit Risk management framework of the Bank.
• Promote positive engagement between CAU (onshore and offshore) and the Coverage teams.
• Be fully conversant in credit risk (and mitigation) matters for the sector and have a deep understanding of Credit policy and process and banking clients’ credit lifecycle, thereby reducing touch-points for problem resolution.
You should apply if you have:
• Experience in banking, with a few years of experience within a credit risk analysis discipline is strongly preferred.
• Excellent analysis, design and problem solving skills.
• Fluency in English and Spanish both written and oral.
• The ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines.
