We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Data Manager.

Principal Responsibilities 

This role sits within the Wealth and Personal Banking which is a Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets. Our dedicated colleagues serve millions of customers worldwide across the entire spectrum of private wealth, ranging from personal banking for individuals and families, through to business owners, investors and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. We provide products and services such as bank accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as asset management, insurance, wealth management and private banking, that best suit our customers’ needs.

The Data Control Manager role sits within the WPB Non-Financial Risk Team and reports directly to the WPB Head of WPB Data Management. This role will act as the key business partner for the Digital & Non Digital change within WPB to understand, assess and help manage Data risk they face as they embed new technology and adopt new ways of working across their business.

  • Support the execution of WPB Data and Group Data & Analytics Office (DMO) Strategy and Agenda
  • Support the WPB Head of Data Management with the adoption of Data controls (DUSE, DMOV, DPRIV & DSTO) assurance programs across WPB Markets
  • Providing advice and guidance on the maintenance of an effective internal Data control environment facing WPB Value Streams transformation (Digital & Non Digital) and ensuring key Data risks are appropriately addressed at the right stage of implementation
  • Execute Data control monitoring and testing programme based on business requirements
  • Oversight of remediation of issues arising from Data control monitoring and testing
  • Oversee implementation of Data Control requirements by working with the Business Transformation & Change teams
  • Produce regular reporting to Business and entity WPB Digital and Data Forums, as well as oversight on material issues for escalation
  • Assist WPB Teams in implementing Data policies and procedures
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, which will require you to engage with all lines of defence, including internal and external audit
  • Uphold HSBC’s values and behaviours on a daily basis
Requisitos
  • A minimum of 8 years proven experience in business controls, audit (internal or external), or controls advisory – Data Control experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in Non-Financial Risk / Operational Risk Management and Compliance - Data Risk Experience Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. Employer will accept a suitable combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience leading projects or a staff is required
  • Proven experience on communications, analytical, organizational, project management and planning skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently and cope with pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand complex concepts
