Fixed Income Analyst

Objective 

The HSBC Custody Asset Services Department is responsible for the processing of dividends, coupons and mandatory/voluntary corporate actions related to equity and fixed income products through the lifecycle of the corporate event.  This role is primarily responsible for principle and interest payments on FED related products as well as coupon and P&I for DTCC (Depositary Trust & Clearing Corporation) eligible securities.

Activities 

  • Requires extensive US market knowledge of P&I and coupon processing for FED and DTCC eligible products
  • Should be familiar with reviewing and understanding DTCC event announcement screens to scrub event data announced to custody clients
  • Should know how to create coupon and P&I entitlement calculations utilizing bond information as well as being familiar with reading and understanding remittance reports
  • Strong understanding or market practice around claims and counterparty payments
  • Knowledge or MT102/202 SWIFT Wire generation
  • Knowledge of SWIFT messaging is a plus, primarily MT564/565/566/567/568 messages
  • Processing knowledge in Broadridge’s BPS application and understanding of complex stock record positions is a plus
  • Knowledge of FED and DTC processing, including CA Web and SmartTrack, Postedge
  • Act as liaison with internal/external business partners
  • Review cash/stock record reconciliations, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution on breaks

 

Requisitos

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Computer literacy, intermediate knowledge of MS Excel a must.  Working knowledge of MS Outlook and Word.
  • Must be detailed oriented, good problem solver, should have good communication skills
  • Must have strong overall knowledge of US Domestic Equity and fixed income markets
