We’re bringing together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world – for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities and the planet we all share.

We are seeking a results-driven and innovative Software Engineer with strong experience in full-stack development, distributed systems, and cloud computing. The ideal candidate must have direct and prior hands-on experience with wealth management platforms — Pershing, SEI, and Addepar — a niche and critical requirement for this role. You will be responsible for building scalable enterprise applications, data pipelines, and API integrations within the financial services domain, contributing to client-facing platforms and back-end systems that drive business intelligence and automation.

As our Full Stack Engineer you will:

  • Provide end-to-end support for production systems including run-the-bank operations, incident response, monitoring, and resolution to ensure system availability and performance
  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Python, Go, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular)
  • Architect and implement RESTful APIs and microservices for secure and scalable financial platforms
  • Integrate with wealth management systems (Pershing, SEI, Addepar) to support portfolio reporting, data ingestion, and client analytics
  • Automate data workflows and processing tasks using Spring Batch, shell scripting, and distributed job schedulers
  • Manage deployments and infrastructure with AWS cloud services, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues, implement fixes, and optimize performance

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $74,900.00 and $112,400.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

At HSBC, our overall goal is to provide a competitive Total Reward Package, with an appropriate mix of fixed pay, and variable pay, as part of an employee’s overall total compensation and benefits. Variable pay generally takes the form of discretionary, annual awards (sometimes referred to as a “bonus”). Additionally, HSBC offers a wide range of competitive and flexible benefits designed to help you improve your health and well-being, finances, and lifestyle.
