Your career opportunity:
As part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) Business Management team, you will support all workforce and financial management activities for the global CTO Enablement team.
Enablement sits at the heart of HSBC’s Chief Technology Office (CTO) – operating, maintaining & transforming the technology infrastructure used by the rest of the bank to run applications & services (servers, storage, databases, mainframe, middleware, internal cloud & automation technologies amongst others). CTO Enablement has a global headcount of ~2,000 FTE, and an overall budget of ~$200m USD.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver an exceptional service to the CTO Enablement Executive Committee and their Hiring Managers – supporting them to achieve their objectives, whilst balancing against financial & headcount constraints.
- Maintain an accurate headcount plan / budget forecast; highlighting any risks to meeting targets & providing options to mitigate.
- Contribute to the overall CTO Enablement financial plan / forecast; highlighting any risks to meeting financial targets & providing options to mitigate.
- Lead the approval process for new headcount requests – applying a reasonable level of critique, whilst ensuring approvals are secured at-pace.
- Interface with external vendors to maintain existing relationships & identify new opportunities for resourcing.
- Supporting design and delivery of strategic initiatives, including development of business cases and benefit validation to support transformation.
- Support transformational programmes & strategic initiatives (eg: benefit delivery, diversity & inclusion, location strategy, organisational design).
- Produce regular management reporting as well as ad-hoc analysis & insights.
- Solve problems & remove blockers.
- Pro-actively & continually innovate & improve processes.
What you need to have to succeed in this role:
- Customer-first mindset.
- Senior stakeholder management skills. You will interact with senior managers and hiring managers on a daily basis.
- Solid Business Management knowledge. We don’t measure experience in years, but you must show that you really know what you are doing with respect to headcount & financial management.
- Proficiency in English. We are a diverse company. Ability to communicate on a business level with everyone is a must.
- Data, reporting and presenting skills. You must know how to analyse and present data in a clear manner.
- Innovative thinking. We don’t settle for mediocracy, and neither should you. You must be able to challenge conventional approach and create new ways of working in dynamically changing world
