We are continually improving our customer facing digital products, from mobile banking to credit card applications. As part of that built an entirely new platform to host and run all of this, making sure we have the highest levels of quality and customer satisfaction, and you can help bring this to life.
As an Enablement Services DevOps engineer within Engineering Foundations, you will be part of team implementing a CI/CD engineering platform as a service in AWS. This will provide CI/CD services to the Digital development community on a cloud platform, allowing us to redress issues faced with the HSBC on premise CI/CD services such as capacity, scaling, cost, chargeback and environment consistency. Our CI/CD services are being re-architected in a cloud centric manner and deployed into our cloud platform as consumable services.
You have the chance to be part of this migration to the cloud helping to design and deliver solutions within a complex and interesting financial enterprise environment. Your responsibilities will range from being a technical innovator, a subject matter expert, a mentor & guide, a consultant and a trouble-shooter.
What you’ll do
- Work closely with the product and delivery teams for BAU and project deliveries.
- Collaborate with the architects in planning and designing the best of solution.
- Efficient management of compliances and vulnerabilities associated with service.
- Work along with wider central teams on managing dependencies and working out with compliances fixes.
- Give your best with always thinking ahead of time and always having an automation mindset.
- Participate with the PI planning, present your ideas and views with the solutions used within value streams.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Essential technical skills: Ansible, Ansible Tower (AWX), AWS, Terraform, Groovy, Git, Maven, Jenkins Enterprise or any other CICD tools, CICD pipelines.
- Desirable technical skills: Splunk, Java, Bash, Python, Kubernetes, Docker.
- Knowledge of automation, orchestration, and monitoring tools.
- Have experience designing and building services in the public cloud (ideally AWS), architecting for failure.
- Experience developing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines across multiple technology stacks.
- Experience in highly available, highly scalable architectures.
- Be comfortable following Scrum methodology and working within an agile, multidisciplinary team.
- Great communication - convey your thoughts, ideas and opinions clearly and concisely face-to-face or virtually to all levels up and down stream.
