HBEU Operational Resilience are a global team of c.35 FTE’s who provide support for 9 markets in both their compliance to
local resilience regulations, as well as global resilience frameworks. As well as providing flexible support to each of the
markets, this team are responsible for providing a cross-market view by sharing insights, driving efficiencies, executing
resilience testing, and ensuring a consistent standard is achieved across all HBEU markets.
This role will report into an HBEU Operational Resilience Delivery Lead/Manager. This role is responsible for the ongoing
monitoring, reporting, and remediation of vulnerabilities identified to the resilience of Important Business Services (IBSs),
and Important Group Business Services (IGBGS). This will include supporting the vulnerability identification process (by
assessing the results of scenario testing, and post-incident reviews), owning the design and approval of remedial actions,
tracking progress to closure, and ensuring effective reporting through market and HBEU governance.

What you’ll do:

• Define, document, maintain, and publish to all HBEU markets an agreed approach to the identification, assessment,
and management of vulnerabilities, aligning with Group guidance.
• Define and maintain a process to identify common vulnerabilities across multiple HBEU markets, and within the
• Group, to develop a wider view of HBEU resilience.
• Define and document a review Schedule to identify vulnerabilities within IBSs, IGBSs, and underlying operational
assets.
• Support the identification of resilience vulnerabilities across IBSs and IGBSs by completing an impact assessment
following changes to dependency mapping, the performance of resilience testing, or the identification of lessons
learnt during a post-incident review.
• Support the remediation of any IT vulnerabilities by ITSM, and track remediation to provide regular status reporting
to the BSO’s, and the wider HBEU Operational resilience team.
• Record any identified vulnerabilities within a Systems of Record and ensure that this remains up to date reflecting
the progress of any remedial actions, or changes to delivery processes.
• Track vulnerability treatment progress and provide status reporting as relevant to Business Service Owners, and
individual market/ HBEU governance committees.

What you need to have to succeed in this role:

• Experience working within Operational Resilience, Risk, Technology, or Controls monitoring.
• Good understanding of regulatory standards and concepts within Operational Resilience, IT Risk Management,
Business Continuity, and/ or Enterprise Risk Management.
• Ability to analyse business requirements and produce a solution design.
• Good understanding of IT environments.
• Experience completing post-incident reviews, assessing process mapping, or results of testing to identify lessons
learnt and remedial actions.
• Experience utilising threat intelligence to understand and design mitigation plans for emerging threats.
• Ability to distil complex and varied information into useful, insightful and concise recommendations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all
levels across the Group and across different cultures.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
