Automation and Analytics Team is a team within Group Chief Controls Oversight Office (GCCOO), as part of the RCAS function acts as the analytical powerhouse by leveraging analytical thought process with business knowledge to gain critical insights to make better and informed business decisions. 
The Automation and Analytics Team provides analytical solutions & Information management to various HSBC portfolios and Business Units. The Analytics Team’s focus is on using logical thought process and relevant statistical techniques to understand and analyse product portfolio metrics and risk behaviour to arrive at value-based optimum decisions. 

The job holder will be responsible for ensuring that the team meets the requirements of the assurance plan, providing risk stewards, control owners and senior management with up to date information regarding the effectiveness of key controls to mitigate material risks within the organisation.

What you’ll do
    • Mentor the local A&A team including supervising, coaching and developing A&A staff
    • Be part of the Global A&A Senior Leadership team, supporting RCAS objectives that span many countries/regions
    • Support Assurance review teams on a global basis through the delivery of review based analytics 
    • Build effective relationships with our key stakeholders across Assurance and the wider organisation 
    • Stakeholder engagement with Assurance Senior Management 
    • Communicate complex analytical results to a non-technical audience 
    • Escalate exceptions and insights in order that appropriate action can be undertaken to remediate.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Strong investigative and analytical skills and experience of using relevant software packages such as Python, SQL, VBA and Excel
    • High self-motivation and enthusiasm for data analytics 
    • Experience as an effective leader with excellent communication skills 
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively within teams and to deliver on time
    • Proven track record of creating and delivering Analytical Insight and Business Intelligence
    • An innovative and forward-thinking mindset, and a proven ability to question, evaluate, and improve existing business processes and adequacy of information
    • Knowledge of financial services, banking or consulting 
    • Audit, Assurance or Regulatory Experience is advantageous.
