HSBC’s Chief Technology Office (CTO) manages the Technology infrastructure on which the majority of the bank’s applications & services operate on – spanning data centres, networks, hosting platforms, end user devices amongst others.

As part of the CTO COO team, the Finance Analyst role supports end-to-end financial management activities globally across a ~$1bn cost base, including: budget planning, actuals & forecast tracking, accruals management, regular insights & reporting.


What you’ll do
    • Provide support to annual budget planning – helping to build the budget, working closely with stakeholders to align the ‘bottom up’ plan with ‘top down’ targets.
    • Track & provide regular reporting of actuals & forecast vs. budget – proactively identify, track & resolve variances, risks & issues.
    • Track forecasting accuracy & quality – proactively identify issues & proposing ideas to improve.
    • Support accruals management – ensuring accruals are up-to-date & accurate.
    • Help to continuously improve financial management processes & governance.


What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Customer-first mindset.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills. You will interact with a range of COO stakeholders on a daily basis.
    • Solid Financial Management knowledge. You must have strong experience – ideally having supported  a large, global cost base.
    • Data, reporting and presenting skills. You must know how to analyse and present data in a clear manner.
    • Proficiency in English. We are a diverse company. Ability to communicate on a business level with everyone is a must.
    • Innovative thinking. We don’t settle for mediocracy, and neither should you. You must be able to challenge conventional approach and create new ways of working in dynamically changing world
