The Foundation Engineering Platform, PaaS team provides products and services that strive to improve the efficiency of HSBC. Our goal is to help HSBC teams deliver cost-effective journeys securely, provide complete development platforms and tools.
Our attention to detail needs to be excellent as should our ability to assess ‘the bigger picture’.
We are looking for an accomplished Software Engineer to contribute to these goals.
The role is a hands-on development role foremost; delivering security services and libraries to address recognised cross cutting capabilities
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain cloud-based applications using Java and associated frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot)
- Produce clean, efficient code
- Deliver appropriate tests as part of every deliverable
- Participating in code reviews and quality assurance activities
- Create technical documentation.
What you need to have to succeed in this role:
- Good written and verbal communications skills, very good English
- Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Hands on experience with AWS and Kubernetes would be beneficial
- Comfortable choosing and applying appropriate testing approaches
- Attention to detail.
