HBEU Operational Resilience are a global team of c.30 FTE’s who provide support for 9 markets in both their compliance to local resilience regulations, as well as global resilience frameworks. As well as providing flexible support to each of the markets, this role will ensure that third-party arrangements comply with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and other regulations.
This role will report into the HBCE Resilience Lead, HSBC Bank plc and Europe. This role is responsible for leading the implementation of the third-party risk management framework in alignment with DORA requirements.
What you’ll do
• Support the design and effective governance of annual ICAAP Scenario Analysis plans to ensure that scenarios requiring period updates and new scenarios driven by trigger events are captured as required.• Manage the development of a ICAAP Scenario Analysis by designing stress testing scenarios that assess the resilience of HBEU’s capital under adverse conditions.• Oversee the identification and development of severe but plausible scenarios that reflect potential risks to capital adequacy.• Lead the execution of ICAAP Scenario Analysis involving coordinating with cross-functional teams including finance, risk management and operational units to ensure effective execution and analysis of outcomes.• Perform the ongoing assessment of the amounts, types, and distribution of capital deemed adequate to cover the level and nature of risks to which HBEU is exposed.• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for ICAAP scenario planning activities, ensuring that effectiveness is regularly assessed and reported through Governance.• Facilitate post-scenario reviews to identify lessons learned and areas of improvement in the ICAAP process, ensuring that findings are documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.• Drive the continuous improvement of ICAAP scenario analysis practices incorporating feedback and lessons learned to enhance the effectiveness of scenario analysis.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Good understanding of regulatory standards and concepts within Operational Resilience, IT Risk Management, Business Continuity, and/ or Enterprise Risk Management.• Experience in ICAAP or capital adequacy assessments with a strong focus on regulatory compliance.• Proven experience in facilitating ICAAP Scenario Analysis, including the design and execution of stress testing scenarios that assess capital adequacy.• The ability to analyse complex data sets and make informed decisions regarding capital planning strategies.• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences and chair effective scenario analysis workshops with senior stakeholders.• Proven ability to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement and establish a delivery-mindset.• Ability to deliver work and transformation through others.• Ability to create and maintain a positive, open, and productive working environment.
