Your career opportunity:
Assisted by your manager, you will be fully integrated into the Resolution Planning team, responsible for the resolution work for the bank, in connection with the relevant European regulations, with a dominant role on resolution., You will be required to ensure HSBC Continental Europe’s compliance with the requirements of the Single Resolution Board and the European Central Bank in terms of recovery and resolution, to help steer the bank’s capital, to contribute to the implementation of the ALCM strategy, and to communicate the impact of the strategy to the business lines.
This internship will give you a global vision of all the financial issues of a global banking group (prudential aspects, risk management, business topics), in relation to the business lines (Commercial Bank, Investment Bank, Markets) and the Finance Directorate, in France as well as internationally.
What you’ll do:
- Participate in the regulatory work and requirements of the Single Resolution Board (SRB),
- Compliance with regulatory requirements for loss-absorbing resources (MREL-TLAC),
- Implementation of work in connection with the drafting of a resolution plan on various topics relating to all group business areas: capital management, business continuity, liquidity in resolution, valuation, etc,
- Interactions with regulatory supervisory authorities (ACPR, SRB, EBA, ECB...),
- The establishment of a Preventive Recovery Plan at the European Central Bank (ECB), which, in the event of a significant deterioration in its financial situation, provides for the measures envisaged by the bank for its recovery.
What you need to succeed in this role:
- Undergraduate or Graduate (Bac+4/5) School of Business or Engineering, University, IEP, with a specialised course in finance or banking and financial law,
- Strong ability to read, synthesise and understand the challenges of new regulations,
- Strong capacity for analysis and abstraction,
- Skilled in handling and controlling a large amount of data,
- Strong ability to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks specific to capital management,
- Advanced mastery of different Office tools,
- Your editorial skills, your good relationship skills and your ability to work as a team will all be assets in the course of your alternation,
- Excellent level of written and oral English.
