The Futures Algo Algorithmic Trading Technology team work alongside the Cash Equities tech team and runs the execution stack from client FIX message in through to order message on the exchange. The team develops and maintains its own Algorithmic Trading Container, View Server and HTML5 based UI and Smart Order Router. It also has a dedicated infractructure team for managing its off-campus hardware estate. The team spans the 3 main trading hubs (Hong Kong, New York, London), with team members in five locations (Guangzhou, Hong Kong, New York, London and Krakow). Your main challenge would be helping to build out the ‘next generation’ of Futures execution algo platform at HSBC. |
What you’ll do
• Work as part of the front office team.• Be a Java expert and have a detailed working knowledge of the Java and the JVM (Java Virtual Machine), garbage collection, data structures.• Work on production support issues (via a rota) and be involved in improvements on automation and dev ops.• Build low latency processes, algorithms.• Support Dev ops and production.• Handle all phases of development (requirements gathering/analysis through to implementation), establishing solid relationships and trust built on proven delivery.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Must have strong core Java skills (willing to learn Scala)• Must have a very good knowledge of collections, their implementation and their optimization.• Zero GC architectures.• Low latency systems.• Experience with Algorithmic Trading Stack.• Be excellent communicator, and comfortably communicating directly with the Sales/Trading Desk and internal Technology teams and can range up and down the detail depending on your audience.
