Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Global Insurance Risk Steward - Capital and ALM Risk Lead- Risk and Compliance.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support in Capital and ALM Risk oversight and assurance activity across the insurance entities.
  • Being a leading subject matter expert across actuarial topics related to risk-based capital and ALM.
  • Setting policies, standards and procedures to ensure that appropriate risk management standards are maintained within Insurance businesses, and overseeing compliance with those policies, including agreeing dispensations where required
  • Working with local first and second line teams globally within Actuarial, Risk and Finance
  • Providing Group oversight for local entity compliance with Group policies
  • Overseeing development of regular financial reporting controls standards and oversight of entity controls, and performing assurance activities as part of the team responsibilities
  • Working closely with local actuarial teams in key insurance territories, leading detailed regular and ad-hoc assurance reviews relating to Financial Reporting
Requisitos
  • Qualified Actuary or similar qualification.
  • Knowledge of IFRS17 and local regulatory / economic capital with a sound understanding of the key differences between financial reporting and capital bases, strong knowledge of stochastic models.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of ALM.
  • Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal, able to adapt and deliver to stakeholders of multiple geographies and seniority levels.
  • Stakeholder management skills and experience, especially interaction with senior management.
  • Good knowledge and experience with HSBC Risk policies and concepts including risk appetite, controls oversight and challenge.
  • Experience of assessing and implementing HSBC policies.
  • Ability to work flexibly, taking leadership for some team responsibilities while balancing with providing technical support for other priorities.
  • Managing changing priorities, making sound judgements and effective problem solving.
  • Able to contribute to constant improvement of process and culture, especially to enhance integration between teams in different functions and locations who are increasingly needing to be closely aligned.
