We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Business Finance Planning and Analysis Manager, Group Insurance Finance .

Principal Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the integration of the new planning, forecasting and analysis capabilities and solutions being built by the IFRS 17 programme into BAU
  • Provision of IFRS 17 SME oversight, technical guidance and advice to the finance and actuarial teams in the businesses
  • Assess and challenge business unit financial plan, products, initiatives transactions across the full suite of commercial, capital and financial (IFRS 17) lenses
  • High quality insight and analysis over financial performance (incl. under IFRS 17), forecast, plan and projections, including benchmarked in the context of industry peers’ performance
  • Leading strategic initiatives and projects from the strategic and commercial finance perspective (incl. not limited to, through IFRS 17 lens) and performing critical reviews of business and investment cases.
  • High quality internal and external communication of the business performance & financial results, including to Analysts, HSBC Global Insurance Executives, HSBC regional and group Finance and Investor Relations teams
  • Insurance Management Information across Manufacturing and Distribution activity, including performance analysis with accurate and timely delivery to support key business decision-making forums including Operating Committee & Executive Committee
  • Ensure effective strategy formulation and buy-in from key stakeholders both within Global Insurance and across the Bank – at global, regional and local levels
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and foster the implementation of competitors’ best-practices within the Group
  • Keep stakeholders engaged on execution through regular progress updates
Requisitos
  • Understanding of the life insurance industry, IFRS 17, embedded value reporting and risk-based capital frameworks (IFRS17 knowledge will be an essential)
  • Strong financial and actuarial background – including in-depth understanding of Life financial metrics and markets
  • Strong working experience and exposure to Life Insurance and its’ Financial and Valuation metrics
  • Actuarial professional
  • Strong influencing, communication and leadership skills and a proven ability to lead group-wide processes and working with international and virtual teams
  • Life insurance financial projection, scenario modelling and impact assessment under IFRS 17 experience would be an advantage
