Taking on the role of Services Analyst - Guarantees & Standbys with the GTS team at HSBC, you will be joining an organisation founded to support Trade globally with a global trade network and product suite which is second to none.  

This role is a great opportunity to use your existing experience in trade guarantees and standbys to work with sophisticated complex clients and senior stakeholders internally, regularly interacting with HSBC offices in South America, North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.  This role would be perfect for someone who thrives in a varied fast paced role, enjoying the challenge of handling more complex matters to produce positive outcomes for clients.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing, analysing and interpreting complex documentation relating to the issuance, amendment and cancellation of guarantees and standby letters of credit.
  • Clarifying and obtaining instructions from customer application forms, which includes providing guidance and assistance in issuing, amending and cancelling guarantees and standby letters of credit (contracts between the bank and its counterparties).
  • Liaising with external customers, relationship managers and other internal departments, ensuring maximum productivity and compliance to guidelines and audit requirements.
  • Completing training and development courses and activities to continually build skills and provide high quality technical assistance.
  • Contributing to the identification of opportunities for process improvement through best practice sharing.
  • Engaging in ongoing evaluation of the operational risks inherent in the processes related to your work, raising any concerns with Line Management.
Requisitos

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a client service, operational, processing or administrative role in a banking or financial services environment, with exposure to guarantees and / or standby letters of credit.
  • An ability to analyse and think logically to solve problems and develop solutions, enjoying the challenge of working with more complex client cases, documents and requirements.
  • Knowledge of URDG758 and / or ISP98 will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail, working independently to prioritise in a high volume, fast paced deadline driven environment.
  • An enthusiastic nature and excellent interpersonal skills, with a particular emphasis upon influencing and negotiating with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A genuine customer service focus, with the flexibility and desire to learn in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of banking trade products an advantage, but not essential.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
