The Head of Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance Korea Seoul Securities (SLS) is responsible for supporting the Korea Seoul Securities (SLS) Business Facing Compliance Officers to ensure Korea SLS manages the Compliance risks that it faces. The role holder is the senior accountable executive focused on and responsible for ensuring that Korea SLS operations are effective in countering the risk that Korea SLS might be used or targeted for financial crime activities and ensure that Korea SLS RC risks are managed in a commercially sensitive, practical and cost-effective manner.

  • Provide advisory services to the business in order to ensure clear understanding of financial crime risk and regulatory compliance risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and products.
  • Reporting to the CEO SLS (entity line) and Head of Risk and Compliance International Markets Asia Pacific (functional line)
  • Ensure that senior management are appropriately advised of material financial crime and regulatory compliance related reputational matters.
  • Manage and foster a strong relationship with Korea regulators and authorities such as FSC, FSS, KRX, KOFIA etc. ensuring timely disclosure of relevant information on financial crime and regulatory compliance risk related matters.  
  • Ensure that positive relationships are maintained with other external stakeholders relevant to the financial crime risk and regulatory compliance risk agenda.
  • Provide leadership to and develop the strategy for the Korea SLS Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance team, liaising closely with the Business Facing Compliance Officers and their teams.
  • Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with senior business managers
  • Create an environment for the delivery of consistent performance measurement, training, career management and succession planning across the Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance team.
  • Establish a strategy for the sharing of financial crime risk and regulatory compliance risk knowledge and best practice
  • Create a framework for the effective risk-based monitoring of the implementation of AML, anti-bribery/ anti-corruption, sanctions, fraud, tax-evasion and counter proliferation policies and controls across Korea SLS.
  • Agree and oversee the monitoring of the adherence to the financial crime risk and regulatory compliance elements of the Compliance FIM.
  • Monitor and assess the resourcing, costs and spend of the Korea SLS Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance team.
  • To support Investigations and Surveillance through research, analytics and technology encompassing data capture and processing, visualisation and network analysis, proactive data analytics capabilities and thematic research.
  • Detect and analyse unauthorised trading, market manipulation, insider dealing and other market abuse activity within Korea SLS.
  • Achieve effective AML risk management by focusing on the end-to-end development and implementation of transaction monitoring controls, coordinating the efforts of risk stewards, risk owners and control owners.

Postulación

  • Significant experience as a regulator, or a senior compliance manager within a global firm, in the financial services industry. 
  • Leadership experience and an experienced strategic thinker.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels.
  • Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues.
