We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, HSBC Life. 

The Head of FP&A is a pivotal business and finance leadership role, focused on strategic business partnering, delivering incisive financial advice, and driving exceptional business performance. This role serves as a critical enabler of decision-making and value creation across HSBC Life. 

  • Provide Financial Leadership: Deliver financial stewardship, controllership, governance, and oversight to ensure robust financial performance. Play a key role in shaping business strategy through incisive analysis and actionable performance insights
  • Lead Business Partnering and Management Information: Spearhead the continuous development of HSBC Life’s Business Partnering and Management Information framework, driving alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities
  • Drive Business Performance: Support HSBC Life in making informed, data-driven decisions through insightful performance analytics, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing commercial finance support (e.g., pricing, competitive analysis, client/product profitability, and portfolio management)
  • Optimise Resource Allocation: Ensure the effective allocation of resources, including balance sheet growth, strategic investment decisions, and budget allocation, to maximize shareholder returns and business growth
  • Focus on Strategic Insights: Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing forward-looking insights and recommendations that drive profitable growth and long-term value creation
  • Own Strategic Planning Processes: Lead the business’s strategic planning and forecasting processes, including target setting, financial projections, Financial Resource Planning (FRP), and investor relations, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy
  • Enhance MI Frameworks: Simplify, develop, and refine the MI framework in alignment with Group Finance’s MI Strategy, ensuring timely, accurate, and comprehensive reporting of financial and non-financial performance indicators
  • Embed ESG in Financial Planning: Integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into financial planning and reporting, aligning with HSBC Life’s sustainability objectives
  • Champion Change and Transformation: Act as a change agent, driving transformation and embracing innovation during times of significant business and functional change
  • Cultivate a High-Performance Culture: Drive accountability, ownership, and collaboration across the FP&A team, empowering them to operate as a trusted business partner
  • Manage a High-Performing Team: Oversee a large team of finance professionals across multiple locations, leveraging a location strategy that supports regional and global priorities while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
  • Coach and Develop Talent: Mentor sub-team leaders, provide regular feedback, and serve as a key escalation point for managing risks and issues, ensuring the development of a strong leadership pipeline
  • Foster Stakeholder Relationships: Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Represent the FP&A function in governance forums and strategic discussions
  • Enhance Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with actuarial, risk, and investment teams to deliver integrated solutions that align with risk appetite, investment strategies, and business goals 

Requisitos

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field 
  • Strong experience in financial planning and analysis within the insurance industry is essential 
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality output for senior executives and buy-in from key stakeholders 
  • Solid experience working with globally dispersed teams and stakeholders 
  • Deep understanding of Insurance, products, IFRS17, and key frameworks (e.g., Risk-Based Capital) is mandatory 
  • Knowledge and experience with change management would be an advantage 
  • Background in financial services with a proven track record of driving excellence, delivering high quality output, and promoting a culture of ‘challenge’
