We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Investment Engineer

Principal responsibilities

  • Integrate and leverage investment datasets utilizing our technology stack to facilitate portfolio analysis across asset classes in the Investment Analytics Portal
  • Sustain and offer a comprehensive understanding of investment risk models, our multi-process investment framework, and the market risk drivers and their impact on product performance and attribution
  • Enhance and streamline processes where necessary and contribute to the technical design and development of new solutions
  • Oversee the design, execution, and maintenance of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, procedures, and policies. Maintain reusable and well documented code and ensure best practices are adhered to and promoted internally. Verify and maintain data quality through systematic checks, ensuring oversight of the data's location, aggregation, and availability
  • Develop a profound and trustworthy relationship with global teams and assist where necessary in supporting the wider team on implementation of new analytics and continuing project work
  • Delivery of in depth analysis in specific topic areas where necessary on a regular or ad-hoc basis. Work closely with stakeholder internally and externally to translate business requirements into analytics
  • Partner with our data management team to build requirements for data infrastructure necessary to facilitate efficient analytics building
  • Focus on data governance, usage, analysis and distribution across all investment strategies and broader functions. Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling, analyse and organize raw data, conduct intricate data analysis, and report on the results.
  • Perform root cause analyses on both internal and external data and processes to address specific business questions and identify areas for improvement. Implementation of data ingestion and onboarding in relevant Front Office systems, such as Refinitiv, Bloomberg, and HSBC Analytics
Requisitos
  • Exceptional practical and demonstrated proficiency in Python/Spark coding, qualified CFA, FRM or equivalent would be an advantage
  • Proficient in reading SQL databases and cloud warehouse technologies such as BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, or others Interest in cloud migration (GCP, AWS, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in designing and developing data pipelines using GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and AWS (Amazon Web Services) data technologies or any cloud technologies.
  • The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with risk or other analytical systems, bolstered by strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Positive and proactive attitude with flexibility to accommodate changing environment and willingness to take on new responsibilities
  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) systems, particularly in data transformation. Experience using GitHub and maintaining a code base contributed to by more than one person
  • Technical expertise in data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques. Knowledge in statistics and experience with numerical analysis (e.g. regression, optimization) and ML
  • Conversant with current industry developments and challenges with an interest in future trends
  • Practice in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or similar. Experience working with one or more risk applications (Bloomberg PORT, BarraOne, Factset, etc.)
