We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an Analyst, Strategic Cost Management, MENAT.

Role purpose

The main purpose of this role is to support the regional head of Analysis & Insight (A&I) in the development and delivery of insightful MI for a variety of Regional and Group stakeholders to support commercial, capital and strategic decisions. 

Principal responsibilities

  • Produce a number and range of management information reports relating to financial performance to ExCo, Board, and regulators, concurrently and within a short time frame due to tight timelines, without compromising the quality of data
  • Deliver insightful peer analysis and commentaries on the UAE banking sector to support UAE ExCo and HBME Board decision making
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to help decision support, highlighting risks and opportunities to the delivery of financial plans
  • Provide guidance to the offshore team to ensure optimum utilization of time and resources
  • Key activities include:
    • Preparation of underlying data through Excel spreadsheets and other tooling
    • Performing analytical reviews including key variance analysis
    • Presenting data in chart and tabular format suitable for executive use, including ownership of final PowerPoint slides or Word document sections where necessary
    • Preparing insightful and accurate commentary
    • Retrieving and reviewing datapoints from sources including Finance systems (e.g. TM1), inputs from colleagues and external sources (e.g. websites)
    • Reviewing and checking the internal consistency and appropriateness of work performed including understanding variances between different versions, and checking excel data matches PowerPoint presentations.
    • Clarifying requirements upfront and setting up review meetings with managers and peers to facilitate the review and progress of work in a timely manner
  • Support our Innovation agenda and lead on these by being SMEs for tooling such as QlikSense, Monday.com and other tools.
  • Support our control environment by understanding our risk and control framework, and by contributing to the development and improvement of processes including key EUCs.
Requisitos

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is a must to obtain UAE visa.
  • Finance & Accounting or related degree.
  • Analytical and forecasting experience in a global organisation (not necessarily Banking) showing a technical understanding of what drives reported numbers.
  • A strong interest in technology and innovation and how these can be applied in the workplace.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal), planning and organisation skills.
  • Able to confidently interact with team members and build relationships in a matrix organization.
  • Curiosity to seek out and understand who and how things work, coupled with the ability to question and challenge the status quo.
  • Self-starter and self-motivator with the drive and ambition to develop personally and professionally.
