We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Manager/Assistant Vice President DCC Service Delivery – Short Term Assignment (STA) (Internal), Manager/Assistant Vice President DCC Service Delivery – Fixed Term (External).

Role Purpose

To assist in managing the operational teams under Direct Custody and Clearing (DCC) Operations, namely Settlements and FX, to ensure maximum operational efficiency and adherence to service standards whilst minimising the risks associated with operations, thereby ensuring maximum profitability and attainment of operating and strategic objectives. 

Responsible for the ongoing review of operational and regulatory risks inherent in operations and implementation of procedures to close or mitigate these risks and delivering strategic initiatives. Responsible for ensuring that client and counterparty inquiries are replied to, reportorial requirements due to client, issuers and/or regulators are accurate and submitted on a timely basis. Supports the department in identifying and developing service improvements. Deputizes for VP Service Delivery in his/her absence.

Principal Accountabilities:

Impact on the Business / Function

  • Contributes towards maintaining/increasing the Bank's market share through seamless operations and provide support to business development and client servicing teams.
  • Contribute to business and service development.
  • Leverage on technology platforms (new and existing) to gain efficiencies and ensure operational viability. 

Customers / Stakeholders 

  • Ensure high quality of service delivery provided to clients
  • Proactive client servicing and work with Client Services team to provide client solutions and service improvements 

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Maintain HSBC control standards including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Manage operational risk, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
  • Compliance to internal and external policies and regulations
  • Ensure sustainability of BCP

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Develop and nurture a strong relationship with market players and regulators to develop and implement market reforms
  • Coach and develop a highly motivated team through active performance management

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous Securities Services experience is an advantage (e.g. Client Services, Operations, Settlements, Asset Services/Corporate Actions, Investment Licensing/Registration).
  • General banking operations (e.g. remittances, foreign exchange) or financial accounting or business analyst background, knowledge of stock market activities, equities, fixed income instruments and other securities. 
  • Familiarity with regulators (Philippines Stock Exchange, Philippine Depository and Trust Corporation, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Securities and Exchange Commission) and regulations.
  • Able to build relationships and influence others, both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be organised, analytical, with keen attention to detail, a fast learner and efficient worker and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Must possess effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be inquisitive, service and goal-oriented, resourceful, and self-reliant.
  • Must be able to think and work effectively under challenging situations to properly manage multiple tasks and identify any potential issues and resolve them.
  • Must have strong sense of ownership, responsibility, accountability, and teamwork.
