Markets and Securities Services

 Securities Services provides robust and reliable solutions that enhance performance and mitigate risk, today and in the future. Working with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, governments and multinational corporations. Markets and Securities Services offers a range of fund administration, global custody, sub-custody and clearing services.

 We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Markets and Securities Services Operations team.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • The role to be backfilled is within the Settlements Team that manages the Client Trade Processing and Settlement, Regulatory & Client Reporting and various client queries.
  • The Role requires strong understanding of the Securities markets along with regulatory knowledge of the Securities Market and the relevant risk principles associated with Securities Settlement Transactions.
  • Critical role activities involve knowledge on Client Trade Settlements within stringent deadlines on T date, continuous monitoring of Trades, Regulatory Reporting’s, queries & Operational risk, including its identification, assessment & mitigation control.
  • To be seen as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) by internal / external counterparties on regulations / policies pertaining to Equity operations in India
  • Maintain excellent rapport with internal teams like Client Services team, Regulatory Reporting team, Compliance team etc. and also external market participants i.e. Stock exchanges/ other custodians/ brokers / registrars and companies

Major Challenges: 

  • The biggest challenge for the job holder is to continuously synchronize the processes to meet demanding client requirements as well as constantly changing market dynamics. These market changes along with client expectations related to high level of customization puts pressure on existing processes, resources and controls.
  • The job holder needs to ensure that all processes are well defined, documented and diligently followed. The challenge is higher in a fiercely competitive market with a zero tolerance for error.  
  • The Job holder should be able to mentor a team to ensure effective and efficient workflow management.  The Job holder is required to work in tandem with CSV to ensure clear understanding of client requirements and timely delivery of the same. 
  • The jobholder must have a thorough understanding of the processes / procedure and also know and understand all the legal, regulatory issues of the market and complement all this on a daily basis to ensure superior service and flawless execution
  • Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same

Role Context:

 

  • The Indian capital market is complex and hence it is extremely challenging to continuously offer superior service and flawless execution to our customer base, which are very demanding large institutional clients.
  • Additionally, the Custody business is extremely competitive where a single client win / loss can result in revenue worth millions of USD getting impacted. The size of transaction intensifies the operational risks and small error can lead to financial and reputation impact. The custodian, including the operations section, is expected to be a partner to the client through the close liaison with Client Servicing Team.
Requisitos
    • A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant work experience
    • Professional Masters / Post Graduate degree preferred
    • Capital Market knowledge is preferred  
    • Minimum Graduation or as required for the role, whichever is higher

    Additional Information

    Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
