Global Markets is part of our HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking division, a markets-led, financing-focused business that provides investment and financial solutions. Our Markets business is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It combines sophisticated 24-hour global coverage with a detailed knowledge of local markets. Our services are offered both online and offline in 58 countries and territories. We specialise in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Officer, Non-Financial Risk.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Assist in driving the conduct agenda for the region; assist in driving control actions
  • Review new policies and standards for and on behalf of the business line; assist in overseeing the Risk & Control Assessments (RCAs) for the business line
  • Assist in ensuring effective remediation actions in place for key issues for the business and track mitigation; assist in embedding regulation in the business and performing periodic analysis to remediate population gaps
  • Assist in ensuring the execution of desk/control reviews, thematic reviews and other remediation/assurance work as required; Attend, if and when control related governance is required   
  • Tracking of Issues in Firm's Reporting Tools - Support the Control Office and Front Office Management in the maintenance and upload of items into HELIOS and other firm’s reporting tool
  • Escalation Point - Act as an additional point of escalation for stake holders with respect to internal control issues for the business
  • Assist in Implementing and Overseeing Policies & Processes to mitigate the business' top risks for the business, Act as an additional contact point for Audit
  • Work closely with the other Regional control teams, Governance team, Assurance team, Business Management community and their support functions to collectively ensure effective implementation and design of control standards, governance and procedures with the aim of sharing and promoting best practice
Requisitos

To be successful you will need

  • A good understanding of the Front to back processes within Equities; effective in the continuously evolving control framework within Global Markets
  • Ability to engage and influence senior business and functional stakeholders; experience in working with Technology
  • Understanding of Equity HK / Asia market structure; understanding of e-Trading controls
  • Strong analytical skills required to perform in depth review of impact to existing business; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working in Global Markets and demonstrable ability to deliver complex projects with multiple stakeholders involved
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with internal and external clients; ability to challenge constructively and effect change
