We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will do :

  •  Work as a Database Administrator for our global, highly available (24x7) deployment of Oracle instances.

  • Setting up oracle database software, creating databases and configuring them for optimal performance.

  • Identiy bottleneck, optimizing queries, index and system resources.

  •  Implementing and testing backup strategies, performing data recovery and ensuring data integrity in case of failure. 

  • Managing data imports, exports and integration with other applications.

  • Design, implement and maintain highly available, performant, scalable and secure Database estate. 

  • Automate deployment, monitoring, recovery and other support operations of Oracle using infrastructure-as-code tools, CI/CD pipelines and programming scripts.

  • Lead incident responses, root cause analysis and post-incident-reviews within team.

  • Plan and execute application/infrastructure migration, DR failover/testing, and upgrade activities.

  •  Review user support queries, enhance automation and self-service capability to improve user experience and reduce manual toil on user support.

     

Requisitos

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, including memory structures (SGA, PGA), processes, and storage management (tablespaces, datafiles). Proficiency in installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.

  • Strong command of SQL for querying, tuning, and managing data, and PL/SQL for writing stored procedures, triggers, and scripts to automate tasks and optimize database performance.

  • Ability to analyse and optimize database performance using tools like AWR, ADDM, and SQL Tuning Advisor. This includes indexing strategies, query optimization, and managing resource-intensive operations.

  • Strong Experience in backup, restore, and recovery operations. Knowledge of high-availability solutions like Data Guard for disaster recovery is essential.

  •  Understanding of Oracle security features, including user management, roles, privileges, encryption, and auditing to ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve issues like database crashes, connectivity problems, or performance bottlenecks, often under pressure in production environments.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell, Python, or PowerShell to automate routine tasks (e.g., monitoring, backups) and reduce manual errors.

  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Autonomous Databases, and hybrid cloud setups, as organizations increasingly adopt cloud-based database solutions.
