We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

  • Oracle /PostgreSQL DBA for a DevOps infrastructure delivery role; configuring, delivering, and supporting Oracle/PostgreSQL server environments and services.
  • Linux Administration and troubleshooting
  • Deliver and provide technical support for CTO technologies while conforming to high quality standards and best practices, maintaining and improving SLA’s, and ensuring compliance to HSBC policies at all times.
  • Provide troubleshooting support in incident and perform root cause analysis to prevent problems happening. Appropriate measures are taken to improve and sustain high quality and prevent recurrence.
  • Actively participate to achieve organisation objectives for efficiency.
  • Advise on Oracle /PostgreSQL design, development, and best practice for Distributed Compute, throughout project lifecycles from build through to ITSA and implementation processes.
  • Write Linux /Python scripts to automate and streamline BAU tasks. Building automation capabilities to support the execution of operational activities. Perform pro-active analysis on day-to-day work to obtain automation on deliveries thereby reducing repetitive and standardised tasks/processes.
  • Pro-actively review information in conjunction with service level agreements to identify any capacity issues and specify any required changes. Work with application teams to agree and implement short- and medium-term modifications to demand.
  • Provide consultancy, guidance and collaborate with other infrastructure, application, support and engineering teams.
Requisitos

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Oracle, PostgreSQL and OracleDB knowledge and experience between 6{+ years
  • Hands on experience on Oracle database builds (12c and above), PostgreSQL v13 +, configuration, upgrade, Migration, patching and troubleshooting all issues, strong knowledge of RDBMS and clustering concepts.
  • Administrative Knowledge with practical hands-on Linux platform with VCS clustering, patching, performance troubleshooting, access control and scripting knowledge
  • Level 3/excellent troubleshooting skills on Linux platform.
  • Performance tuning, Analysis of AWR, ADDM, ASH reports, RAC, ASM, Data-guard
  • Dev-ops tooling knowledge like Jenkins, Ansible, GitHub and at least one scripting language like Python/Shell
  • Good working knowledge of Unix platforms. Strong knowledge on Backup/Recovery RMAN & OEM and Strong shell scripting skills.
  • Good understanding of PL/SQL, Awareness of monitoring and scheduling tools.
  • Candidate should have sense of ownership and urgency, attention to detail, flexibility, process orientation, strong analytical skills, sense of vigilance and adherence to all compliance procedures and policies.
  • Excellent Leadership and communication skills, with ability to describe complex technical scenarios in a concise manner, both verbally and written, and articulating the content depending on the audience
  • Handson experience on PostgreSQL / Oracle to PG migration tools

  • Handson experience on python/Shell scripting
