We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role Programme Management Office

Role Purpose:

Project Managers are accountable for successful delivery of the project and ensuring benefits realisation. Projects may be standalone or part of a wider programme of activity and may be in project teams as well as BAU teams.

Project Management jobs may have reports, these may be Business Analysts, Work stream leads, Programme Management Office (PMO) staff or admin support staff.  Project Management jobs may report to a Programme Managers or a Senior Project Manager or may report to a Business Manager.

Main Activities

  • Reporting and Insight:

  • Influencing the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments, and changes.

  • Driving project delivery proactively, balancing planning, scope, schedule, budget, communications, and risks

  • Managing and planning resources, responsibilities, and schedules

  • Establishing effective project controls and procedures and quality assurance processes

  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Reporting progress, issues, dependencies and risks to project or programme leadership and committees (as appropriate) and making recommendations to influence decision making, to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation.

  • Providing management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC

  • Driving the adoption of HSBC project standards and working in alignment with HSBC project methodology at all times

  • Leading the team to meet performance targets aligned to objectives.

Impact on business/function

  • Ability to work in fast-paced development environment with optimistic trade-offs between quality of work and timeline.

  • Experience working as project manager within depth knowledge of all phases of HSBC Change Framework

  • Experienced at gathering requirements and ability to analyse with good and varied experience of analysis artefacts (e.g. process flows, proof-of-concept)

  • Demonstrated analytical and reasoning skills including the abilities to convert the business requirement into technical specification and streamline the process using sound design.

  • Understanding of working under Agile methodology, preferably using JIRA/Confluence

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to run meetings and workshops as needed.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with other teams that are geographically distributed.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to team’s culture, standards and best practices

  • Continuous adaptation to business environment under constant and occasionally dramatic change in response to the economic environment, new regulations, and changing business tactics.

  • Developing sufficient comprehension of existing processes, systems, and business practices required to recommend and implement future solutions.

  • Dependencies upon teams and functions outside of immediate area of responsibility.

  • Contribute to a team consisting of onshore, offshore and global remote staff

  • Balance of ongoing support and new risk initiatives

  • Fast paced, operationally sensitive environment with daily time-sensitive activities

Requisitos
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle.

  • Understanding of Global Transformation Business Transformation Frameworks, methodologies, and best practice techniques.

  • Understanding of the purpose, value, culture, and fundamentals of Global Transformation.

  • Understanding of banking / HSBC and understanding of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers, and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.  

  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.

  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

  • Understands and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which jobholder is involved.

  • Implement the Group compliance policy locally by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
