The reconciliation and control role covers the activities of PBRS (Switzerland), PBCI (Channel Islands), PBLU (Luxembourg) It includes some funds and securities activities, althought some of this has been outsourced to Manila.
The role primarily surrounds ensuring that items passed on correspondent, custodian and fund administrator accounts are properly reflected in our books. Reconciliations is a safety net to ensure errors in operational processes are detected where other controls fail. Staff must work closely with operational staff to ensure that any discrepancies or anomalies are quickly addressed.

What you will do:
- To support the Departmental Head with the rollout of business requirements for certification & reporting, cash reconciliations, internal account reconciliations, internal account controls, securities reconciliations, fund administrator reconciliations and vault controls. To comply with reporting and risk requirements and to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of reconciliations.
- To produce adequate Key Risk assessment reporting
- To ensure tasks, controls are performed in due time
- To support Reconciliation and Control team to resolve any BAU issues
- To maintain End user Computer ( Excel and access)
- To participate to the implementation of swift release, new product, new accounting plan
In this role you will:
- To improve process, reduce costs and deliver savings
- To minimize the risk
- To escalate strange or unusual activities within the reconciliations function and Booking center to the Department Head
- To manage timely, robust reconciliation and control processes.
- To drive down the number of open items, actively targeting business risks.
- To effectively manage potential high risk items, major events, business issues and reporting requirements. To escalate business issues to the service manager.
- To propose, implement risk controls. To ensure a clear understanding of all accounts under the section’s responsibility.To manage timely, robust reconciliation and control processes.
- To support Reconcilication team and controls to delivered tasks on time
- Advanced skills in VBA application development, namely Excel and Access; familiarity with their specific objects and methods.
- Development mindset founded on user orientation, maintainability /structured and commented code, supporting documents, release management, testing) and output quality (often used in business audits)
- Avaloq core banking system – Reconciliation module
- Strong interpersonal skills and sound coordination skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to create and maintain strong relationships and channels of communication with other departments. Co-operates, trains and builds rapport with others and shares information.
- Strong knowledge of the Banking industry. Strong knowledge of banking products and processes, services and experience in Operations. Strong risk management skills with solid control experience.
- Self-motivated and proactive towards achieving high performance. Conscientious, hardworking and result oriented. Methodical, autonomous, reliable, dependable, adaptable and flexible. Adaptable to changing conditions with the ability to work effectively under pressure within agreed deadlines. Demonstrates accountability and effective decision making capacity (problem solving oriented). Committed and resilient.
- Proactive in pursuing business developments, addressing issues and implementing of robust controls. Ability to formulate and put in practice appropriate solutions to problems and drive process efficiencies. Ability to create and maintain strong relationships and channels of communication with key interfaces.
