The role holder will be responsible for proactively managing, leading, and driving the MENAT GPS Commercial Card product offering throughout the region, to position HSBC as the market leading provider of Commercial Card solutions in each of its chosen customer segments and countries within the region. We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our CIB team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
In this role, you will:
• Be responsible for defining and informing the approach for a regional commercial card payment proposition.
• Own and manage a portfolio of 2,000+ clients across UAE, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, and Türkiye with a card transactions volume of more than US$4bn.
• Drive and deliver revenue growth in line with customer needs and maximize the financial contribution of commercial cards towards fee income to achieve the GPS business objectives for the region.
• Lead the execution of the Global GPS Commercial Card payment strategy regionally.
• Proactively manage costs and achieve and exceed key performance indicators whilst building a sustainable business model.
• Drive the delivery of a comprehensive and competitive suite of card products delivered through a range of delivery channels by executing a commercially focused product management strategy, which aligns with the propositional requirements of the Customer Groups
• Ensure compliance with regulations, and Group standards to mitigated / minimized risk for GPS.
• Act as a business owner and manages long-term and short-term strategic initiatives for regional commercial card products and solutions.
• Optimize the use of product management resources across the region, by developing and monitoring appropriate MI to manage the use of such resources including people and systems.
• Represent GPS at regional governance committees and forums to ensure that key objectives are prioritized appropriately with CIB coverage teams.
• Interact with schemes, and Payment Infrastructures to ensure adherence to involving market requirements and minimize product risk
• Engage with Client Groups, Compliance, Tax, Legal, GFX and Operations to ensure product is fit for purpose; maintaining an open and transparent communication approach that engenders teamwork and the quick resolution of escalated issues.
• Drive and improve engagement of Regional Commercial Cards team to achieve strategic imperatives of CIB and GPS.
• Partner with Compliance and Audit to meet the challenges of evolving Regulatory environment
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Have previous experience in senior management positions in Cash Management business having regular interactions with senior business leaders
• Possess exceptional/proven leadership skills together with an in-depth knowledge of the business dynamics in the Middle East and Commercial Cards
• Ability to make robust/tough decisions and ability to prioritize competing demands
• Ability to deal with and present conflicting views to senior management in a clear and succinct manner is essential
• Have an in-depth knowledge to assess risk trends, both internally and externally; developing and motivating employees; ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines while delivering multiple projects
• Strong background in driving commercialization strategies with clients and stakeholders
• Strong managerial, communications, analytical, organizational, project management and planning skills
• Working knowledge and keen understanding of bank operations, card systems and technology
• Graduation degree is a must to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit
• Under the New Labour Law, only fixed term contracts shall be available to all employees of HSBC UAE (except DIFC and ADGM employees) – hence in line with the term of work permit, a 4 years’ contract would be issued
