Role Purpose

The HSBC Mexico Risk Control Oversight Office is a special unit operating under the Office of the Mexico CEO with a Board mandate to provide comprehensive assessment and monitoring of all regulatory programs across HSBC Mexico, coordination and acceleration of existing remediation or risk mitigation efforts across all Mexico global businesses and functions, and proactive identification and mitigation of forward-looking regulatory risks.

 

This role reports directly to the Managing Director, Head of Risk Control Oversight Office and is highly visible to HSBC Mexico Board, HSBC Mexico ExCo and HSBC Group. The job holder has substantial autonomy and authority and ensures that tough questions are raised and answered in a constructive environment focused on business success.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

·         Transformation: Successfully lead, shape and deliver change from design to delivery as it relates to the scope of RCOO. Support in delivery of regulatory outcomes, and create an environment for development and capability uplift within the wider HSBC Mexico team

·         Planning: Ensure commitments are understood and managed, with regular reporting of upcoming deliverables and pro-active identification and resolution of risks/issues

·         Governance: Establish and maintain formal and informal effective programe governance, including working groups and other meetings ensuring supporting MI is complete, accurate, and timely. 

·         Reporting: Prepare and produce clear, accurate, and timely informal and formal program reporting appropriate for various stakeholder audiences, including regulators, the HSBC Mexico Board, ExCo, and RMM, and Group.

·         Drive pro-active issue resolution: Working in partnership with 1LoD/2LoD/3LoD, drive a programme of work to identify and articulate mitigation plans for issues, through route cause methodology

·         Communication: Professional representation of program progress, status and issues to internal and external stakeholder groups including the Mexico Board, ExCo, and RMM, consultancies, and industry bodies.

·         Auxiliary Support for Accountable executives and PMOs: Provide additional support as needed to help Accountable Executives minimize execution risk and to maintain clear and effective program oversight and governance.

Group engagement: Facilitate effective and collaborative partnerships with various HSBC Group colleagues to ensure adherence and alignment with Group Standards, clear communication and escalation of relevant issues, and to support Group understanding of applicable Mexico policies, laws, regulations, themes, trends, and issues

Requisitos

·     Well developed capacity to process high volumes of complex information and synthesise key themes and issues

·     In depth understanding of the Global Financial Services regulatory landscape

·     In depth understanding and experience of leading large scale transformational change

·     In depth understanding of the Group, HSBC Mexico business policies, products, people, strategy, controls, and practices

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with highly developed capacity to influence senior teams
