This function brings together distinct specialisms to drive greater connectivity in how we manage engagement with key stakeholders for HSBC. 

  • Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight, and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBC’s worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts. 
  • Sustainability teams lead the bank’s work to support sustainable growth in a global economy, including an ambitious plan to prioritise financing that supports the transition to net zero. 
  • Group External Communications teams – including colleagues from Media Relations, ESG Communications and Group Reputation –?deliver communication strategies that support HSBC’s strategic objectives, protect our reputation and build trust among our stakeholders. 

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Actuarial Analyst.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

Capital Reporting: 

  • Perform actuarial valuations and reserve calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Bermuda regulatory framework
  • Assist in preparing the EBS, solvency positions, stress testing and sensitivity analyses
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models to project liabilities, cash flows, and capital impacts under the Bermuda regulatory regime
  • Collaborate with finance teams to populate the Bermuda Capital Solvency Requirements (BSCR) template for regulatory submissions

Risk Management & Business Support: 

  • Provide actuarial support for risk assessment, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis to aid decision-making
  • Support reinsurance analysis and its impact on solvency positions under the Bermuda regulatory framework
  • Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making by providing actuarial insights
  • Provide support to ongoing projects related to the risk and control framework
Requisitos

To be successful you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field
  • Progress toward actuarial qualification (e.g., FIA, FSA, FCAS, or equivalent) with good exam progress
  • Experience with actuarial modelling software (e.g., Prophet, Moses, RAFM, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, or R for data analysis and automation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Hands-on experience with capital and solvency reporting in an insurance company or consultancy
  • Knowledge of discounting techniques, risk margin calculations, and cash flow modelling
