Securities Services provides robust and reliable solutions that enhance performance and mitigate risk, today and in the future. Working with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, governments and multinational corporations, Securities Services offers a range of fund administration, global custody, sub-custody and clearing, and corporate trust and loan agency services.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Business Manager, Securities Services.

Principal Responsibilities

Business performance management

  • Track performance against strategic initiatives and develop action plans for underperforming businesses and segments
  • Provide continuous challenge and support to ensure the business is focused on the right priorities
  • Ensure strong business management cadence across the board

Business Management

  • Oversee daily operations of the Securities Services division, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and HSBC's internal policies
  • Identify and drive opportunities to simplify and streamline processes, governance and the operating model, including engagement with Operations
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategic initiatives
  • Drive innovation and digital transformation within the division, including measuring success factors such as client adoption rates, STP levels, reduction of manual processes
  • Event management of significant business issues, including contingency situations, cyber-attacks and information leakage incidents

Strategy enablement and support

  • Prepare SSv Asia submission materials for various senior forums (for e.g., quarterly business review packs, country strategy refresh packs, business and CTB updates). This requires navigating and influencing various stakeholders in region as well as in London, working to tight timelines, and producing very high quality output with minimal guidance from others
  • Facilitate connectivity and coordination between internal teams (i.e. Product, Client Management, NFR, etc.) and other HSBC teams (i.e. MSS, GB, WPB, etc.) to ensure alignment and execution of strategy at pace
  • Support the communication of SSv strategy updates to internal/external stakeholders

Leadership and teamwork

  • Provide support to the Regional Head of Business Management, SSv Asia and Regional Head SSV, Asia Pacific on ad-hoc projects and initiatives as directed
  • Partner with Product Owners and Country Management to enable execution at pace by providing the support and guidance to clear the runway and navigate HSBC internally

Risk Management

  • In conjunction with NFR ensure appropriate governance & oversight of risk issues, including identification of operational risks and implementation of risk initiatives
  • Support business in regulatory matters ranging from preparing for visits, presentation materials as well as facing them off where appropriate
  • Coordination and support of assurance reviews and internal/external audits. Be a senior contact point in representing the business
  • Partner with NFR and the business to ensure all risk issues and action items are responded and closed in a timely manner

People

  • Support Asia leadership in building and promoting people engagement initiatives, including snapshot survey analysis & actions
Requisitos
  • Extensive experience in the Securities Services industry with in-depth end-to-end understanding of Fund Administration and Trustee & Custody Services
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the external environment, including regulatory, political, competitor, and market factors
  • Strong understanding and experience of the risks facing securities services businesses and corresponding risk mitigation strategies
  • In-depth budget & cost management experience, project/change management, and delivery experience/qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence decisions and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task with keen sense of prioritisation, delivery to high standards and at pace
