What you will do: 

The role holder is responsible for advising and guiding senior stakeholders in the business and managing delivery of the defined CIB BFCR standards, acting as the key business contact owning CDD processes and having oversight on offshore KYC teams. Also, ensuring that the services are provided in line with the relevant HSBC Group standards, regulations, and risk management.  

In this role you will:

  • Governance & Reporting: Support the FCR governance framework through timely and accurate reporting of identified risks and Key Control Indicators. (KCIs)
  • Policy Management: Analyse, maintain and implement FCR procedures (Including CDD CIB, AML, Sanctions, ABC, and Fraud). Ensure all procedures are reviewed and updated regularly. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison with front-line business teams and the 2nd Line of Defence (LoD), providing continuous support and guidance on policy requirements. 
  • Process Improvement: Improve business efficiency by leading process design, re-design and automation efforts. 
  • Risk Management: Identify, resolve and manage risks with the defined risk appetite, ensuring appropriate controls and KCIs are set for continuous monitoring. 
  • Critical Thinking: Analyse, Challenge and question provided information to ensure robust risk assessment.
  • Risk Management & Control Monitoring: Understanding and managing the risk environment so that process changes remain with acceptable risk appetite. 
  • Ensure key controls are identified, implemented during process design and Key Control indicators (KCIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) are established for continuous monitoring.
  • Completing all control monitoring activities on time with correct evidence and analysis


You should apply if you have: 

  • Develop an understanding of policy documents and processes and able to simplify for the audience.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
  • Engage and maintain relationships across various departments and cultures. 
  • Experience in banking sector will be an added advantage.
  • Experience Compliance, Central Booking Model, KYC / CDD or BFCR pillars including experience in use of Actionable Intelligence (AI) for BFCR topics (RSS, Surveillance Triggers, SECs) will be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
