We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of

Senior Manager, Major Investigations

Role purpose:

Compliance sets policy and standards, provides subject matter expertise and guidance, drives execution at the global and country level via regions, and also maintains Line of Business subject matter expertise in support of the Global Businesses. Globally, Compliance has a headcount of circa 7,200 staff. This is a senior leadership role, charged with assisting the Regional and Country FC (Financial Crime) Teams in establishing, developing and sustaining offshore FCI (Financial Crime Investigations) capability which is responsive to their respective needs, is aligned to future growth opportunities, and provides foundation for a seamless End to End Level 1/2/3 process. The jobholder is required to lead and manage a newly created offshore investigative capability which provides services to disparate Regions and within this, four unique markets. The role will require excellent leadership skills to deliver on the promise of the capability, where liaison and collaboration will be a constant requirement as the respective demands of each market come into play. A successful delivery of the initial capability will lead the way to further expansion of the depth and breadth of offshored capabilities. Principle to this will be the ability levels of investigative outputs which meet the risk appetite of Market Regulators and other applicable regulations.

Main activities: 

  • Assist the Heads’ of Investigations for the Markets supported, to establish a L3 Investigative capability within GSC, and once established, ensure that it is sustained and developed.
  • Work with the nominated Country and Regional Heads of Investigations to meet specific Market Regulatory requirements and/or their daily operational requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with respective senior FCI management to oversee the Investigation of all cases according to the requirements of FCI (FCI) policy and guidance, including the FC Investigations
  • Manual, Global External Investigative Reporting Instructions, as well as any relevant Financial Crime Risk (FCR) policies and guidance.
  • Implement processes for the gathering and preservation of evidence according to applicable legal and regulatory requirements for respective markets; and in line with agreed Data Retention Guidelines
  • Ensure that investigations are conducted under contemporaneous Global policy and procedures, applicable to relevant business units or geographies in order to benchmark conduct.
  • Manage stakeholders as appropriate across the Bank.
  • Ensure internal and external stakeholders are fully briefed where appropriate.
  • Oversight the drafting, review and issue of investigation reports, including root cause analysis and agreed recommendations for change with relevant risk type owners.
  • Accord with the Globally generated risk and operational metrics for the programme to inform senior management of cases accepted, underway and concluded, with summary outcomes and noted trends.
  • Track recommendations and agreed actions, including client exits, to ensure completion;
  • Support the Improvement, and where necessary, drafting of Anti-Money Laundering investigations policy.
  • Determine and implement documentation standards to demonstrate competent, proportionate and prompt Anti-Money Laundering investigations.
  • Successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
Requisitos

Functional Knowledge

  • Degree holder in related disciplined.
  • Seasoned professional with experience in one or more senior risk compliance roles, to include significant Anti-Money Laundering experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering regulations and guidance.
  • Significant experience in the financial services industry.
  • Advanced investigative skills from law enforcement, regulatory, forensic accountancy or legal disputes
  • Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues.
  • Numerate, evidence based analytical skills founded on an empirical base.
  • Proven and excellent Global leadership skills or ability to matrix manage.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills.
  • Experience developing an assurance model and developing or leading a review team.
  • Experience in leading assurance work in a complementary discipline. Audit would be an advantage.
  • Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business globally.
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory matters.
  • Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues
