Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager Wholesale Regulatory Affairs and Credit Policy.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Facilitate communication and engagement with the HKMA or other Regulators on matters relating to Wholesale Credit Risk
- Align Wholesale Credit risk policies to HSBC Group Policy Framework, proactively drive execution and effectively identify and call out risks / issues / dependencies as they arise through delivery
- Own critical issues and ensure resolution within agreed timescales and implement mitigants to manage identified risks and issues
- Escalate risks/issues to the relevant senior managers within the Risk organization as appropriate with actionable recommendations
- Collaborate and build positive stakeholder and business partner relationships, provide regular updates to resolve high priority issues impacting delivery of Wholesale Credit Risk objectives and evolve a trustworthy partnership
- Chair and facilitate forums / meetings to ensure regulatory requests are met or to facilitate effective communication on policy changes / announcements
- Develop and host presentations and trainings on policy changes to facilitate knowledge sharing and help deliver key policy changes in ASP
- Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to understand key requirements and translate these requirements into policy and / or suitable documents in an easily comprehensible manner. Manage and coach Wholesale Credit Risk COE colleagues to support the Wholesale Credit Risk function in achieving shared objectives
To be successful you will need
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Strong writing skills, ability to understand complex requirements and document them in an easily comprehensible manner
- Strong analytical, planning and organizing skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills with experience in interacting with individuals across all levels of an organization
- Creative approach to problem solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view. A strong understanding of Wholesale Credit Risk and ability to learn on the job
- Ability to connect multiple documents / Regulatory / Group / site requirements. Track record of successful delivery of change management programs is a plus
