We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Product Design Lead
In this role you will:
- Own complex problems, and break down complexity for the team to digest and solve for
- Manage large scale design teams plans and timings, prioritise work incoming to the team. Communicate to stakeholders.
- Plan strategic research and insight activities, overseeing research and effectively applying data and insights to inform, evaluate, and validate customer experiences that deliver real value.
- Influence our vision, strategy, and roadmap to help position HSBC at the forefront of customer experience design.
- Champion a user-centred design approach across all stages of the product development lifecycle, ensuring the voice of the customer is embedded in every decision.
- Obsess over the details of UX, content, visual and interaction design, consistently pushing boundaries to create innovative, inclusive, and elegant experiences.
- Influence and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to align goals and delight our customers.
- Realise the benefits of consistency to deliver high quality experiences. For example, through design systems, brand and tone of voice guidelines and accessibility standards.
- Balance customer needs, business objectives, technical feasibility, and regulatory requirements.
- Champion the evolution of scalable design practices and contribute to the ongoing maturity of the design function.
- Demonstrate a capability for writing effective content in UK English as part of your product design skill set - so that language and design work together to create intuitive user experiences.
Requisitos
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Proven track record in a senior design leadership role within a global, digitally focused organization, with expertise across at least two design capabilities (Interaction, UI, content, service design).
- A strong portfolio showcasing your skills in strategic design and world-class product design across responsive and native platforms, with clear user and business outcomes.
- Expertise in Figma, design systems, prototyping, and core UX disciplines including research, content design, testing, visual and interaction design, and information architecture.
- Experience in complex, regulated environments—ideally financial services.
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- A collaborative, cross-functional mindset with the ability to build trust across geographies.
- Commitment to inclusive leadership and creating a team culture grounded in curiosity, empathy, and continuous improvement.
- Confidence mentoring others and contributing to a culture of growth and excellence.
- Strategic design thinking that connects decisions to business and customer goals.
