We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.

Business: CIB - GPS Technology

Principal responsibilities

This role will focus in the technical design and development of HSBC CIB GPS CBCC Front-end asset(s), coding and testing quality in alignment to HSBC governance and GPS direction.  He/she will also look after Front-end UI and API layer with interface to underlying systems to ensure global reusability and scalability to frontend.  He/she will be responsible to production issue management of the asset(s) to lead the technical investigation.

• University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years working experience as frontend engineer/technical lead in banking industry.
• In-depth front-end knowledge of JavaScript, React, React Router, Context API, Tailwind CSS, HTML, Nodejs, Webpack, Vite, ESBuild, SWC and Fetch API.
• Must have cloud native related experience, especially in IKP, GCP and AWS.
• Experience with monitoring/troubleshooting skills and familiar with AppDynamic/Splunk.
• Experience with DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Jira/Confluence, Docker, Kubernetes and npm.
• Experience with test and quality control tool such as ESLint, Prettier, Husky and Jest.
• Experience with browser-based debugging and performance testing software.
• Experienced at system analyze and architecture design, experienced at RESTful API design and development, idempotency, and data fault tolerance.
• In-depth back-end knowledge of Java, multi-thread programming, security protocol, TCP/IP network protocol, and digital signature/cryptography.
• Knowledge of Database System: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
• Knowledge of micro-services design and development using Istio service mesh(grpc), deep understanding of spring core, spring boot and spring cloud framework.
• Domain knowledge in banking - core banking, payment, online-payment would be a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skill in fluent English.
• Strong business sense with understanding in how IT systems impact business objectives.
• Strong influencing skills, able to operate well across cultures and in multi-cultural, diverse work environments.
• Experience with user interface analysis, design and problem solving.
• Excellent team player with ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Self-driven and capable of work pro-actively, collaboratively with geographically dispersed team, a good team-player.
