Regulatory Development roles ensure the effective management of regulatory developments affecting the Bank, or in development and implementation of Regulatory Compliance (RC) policy. Early identification and assessment of regulatory developments and their potential impact to the bank is a key activity.

The remit may range from a small geographic area/country to global for a Function or Global Business Line.

As our Head of Regulatory Development, you will:

  • Regulatory Development: identification and oversight of material Enterprise-wide compliance "upstream" and "downstream" regulatory developments, supporting the US to address regulatory change

  • Manage the relationship and engagement with Regulators on all matters relevant regulatory developments for the Enterprise

  • Ensure that the respective Regulators' agendas and requirements are understood, communicated and met; with the intention of there being "no surprises" in the engagement regulatory bodies

  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the US Enterprise Regulatory library, including change control processes

  • Confirm the timely reporting and escalation of new/changes in regulatotry requirements, including completion of applicability assessments, oversight of action plans development by risk stewards, completion of certificates of implementation.  This role requires ongoing communication with all risk types regarding regulatory developments to confirm timely implementation

  • Ongoing monitoring and reporting of Key Risk Indicators for the function

  • Ability to lead a team of resources in the US and other remote locations

  • Capable of negotiating effectively and influence others towards a common objective

  • Strong drive for problem solving and collaboration in day – to – day activities as part of the team

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $141,300.00 and $211,900.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requisitos

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

Functional Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of US regulatory requirements, including those related to federal, state and securities requirements

  • Preferable Project Management experience with a focus on Compliance, Risk Management, or similar matters

  • Experienced in Financial Services, Investment or Consulting firms

Core Skills

  • Ability to manage, negotiate effectively and influence others

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • High level of professional and personal integrity
