We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Software Engineer.

Principal responsibilities
• Conduct production support activities, including health checks and ad-hoc communications, ensuring timely milestone delivery and escalating issues as needed.
• The Core Enabler SVS consists of systems being used by the Insurance Actuarial and Reporting teams.
• A key component of this team is ensuring the technical, stakeholder and budget management of a vendor product Prophet Managed Cloud Services (PMCS from FIS) that is used by the Actuarial team which has a ~US$ 7m annual spend.
• As a key member of the Global Insurance Tech management team, they may also have direct and indirect line or assignment management responsibility for a group of more junior resources across multiple locations. Also given the close relationship between the Actuarial and Insurance Risk systems, the role holder will need to consider the end to end solution across these areas, and be responsible for delivery of the solution running on the same technology platform as for the Actuaries.
• Administer database systems (MySQL, SQL Server) and utilize scripting languages like Python for system maintenance.
• Leverage MS Power App and Power BI for workflow optimization.
• Provide application production support for Cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Address vendor system issues, collaborate with IT teams to identify root causes, and improve system performance.
• Apply strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills to resolve IT project challenges.
• Manage projects using agile practices, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and tools like PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Qliksense.
• Deliver impactful presentations and summaries, prioritize tasks efficiently, and oversee governance processes for systems like EHC and Datavisa.
• Handle Archer engagements, vendor management, and third-party risk management.
• Manage third-party expenditures, liaise with vendors for SoW creation, and oversee purchase order lifecycle activities.
• Coordinate Man Power Planning (MPP) with IT Leads to forecast resourcing needs across projects.
• Utilize financial expertise to manage BP lifecycle and exposure status reporting.
• Quickly adapt to new systems and resolve production incidents for HSBC users.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in production support and IT project management.
• Have background of Enquiry Service Platform(ESP)
• Proficiency in Cloud services (AWS, Azure) and database management (MySQL, SQL Server).
• Expertise in scripting languages like Python.
• Familiarity with MS Power App, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Project).
• Experience with agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Qliksense.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Background in vendor management, third-party risk management, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge on Insurance domain would be preferable.
• Knowledge on IFRS17 domain would be preferable
• Knowledge on Prophet domain would be preferable.
• Knowledge on Actuarial would be preferable.
• Knowledge of SQL and Postman.
• Familiarity with Clarity and GPDM cost tracking.
• Experience with PMCS systems.
• Background in systems like EHC and Datavisa.
• Certifications in project management or cloud services.
