We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering. 

Business: CIB - Credit & Lending Tech

Principal responsibilities

  • A hands-on technology Deliver high-quality solutions that meet the business needs. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team. Manage the Sub Value Stream Backlog, to prioritize quarterly delivery targets and resolve conflicts and manage dependencies.
  • Provide specialist technical knowledge and experience to influence adoption of best-in-class engineering practices and strong Agile/DevSecOps culture in Credit & Lending engineering teams supporting workflow systems.
  • Responsible for building and maturing the self-sustained DevOps teams to carry out the development, maintenance and support of the workflow systems.
  • Overseeing the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions with a tight control around Cost, Schedule and Quality aspects.
  • Adheres to standards for the management of Resilience Risk as set out in the Group’s framework for Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk management, and Resilience Risks are managed within appetite.
  • Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand and values.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor/Master degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline.
    • A successful technology leader must have a broad knowledge of program management principles, practical agile experience, a strong technical background and proven experience in transforming the ways of working of a technology team.
    • 14+ years of IT experience with strategic mindset and knowledge in MS-Power Platform, API Architecture and API Engineering such as REST, API Gateways and Management Platforms, Cloud-native stack, Spring boot.
    • A proven capability of leading and managing platform-oriented solutions and an exceptional knowledge of the project lifecycle, and Agile / DevOps software engineering models, an Agile & DevOps evangelist who can help mature the organization.
    • Delivery of Complex Change: Have consistently demonstrated the successful management and delivery of complex transformational change both regionally and globally.
    • Ability to make technical decisions by staying abreast of advancements in related technologies and Drive Engineering & Service Efficiency / Excellence. Develops new and adapts existing processes for increased quality and efficiency whilst encouraging others to seek new ideas/solutions to day-to-day problems.
    • Knowledge of architecture disciplines and the ability put the governance into practice, knowledge of industry standards will be an advantage.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience presenting technical choices.
