We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Manager - INS COE_BUSINESS SME_CHINA_GZ.

Principal responsibilities

  • Global Insurance Business Architecture (BA) Team are the custodians of Insurance Blueprint and Future State Architecture (FSA), linking propositions with tech solutions to create client and business value.
  • The Business Architect for Global Insurance will be supporting the Business Architecture leadership in defining the target operating model and business capabilities (incl. journeys) required to fulfil Global Insurance strategy. The Business Architect will also work hand in hand with technology architecture to define solutions for the optimal system platforms to meet those business capabilities.
  • The Business Architect will also be responsible for bringing forward the respective designs to the Global Insurance Design Council which provides design/architecture governance across all Sub Value Streams globally to ensure that design decisions are effective and consistent with global design principles, and that solutions are re-usable.
  • Key activities and decision making areas.
  • Captures target business models (goals, products, target customer groups etc), provides traceability through to operating model design and assesses impact of change against the models so that planned change supports enduring business capability and competitive advantage.
  • Develops Target Operating Model (TOM) designs that describe how the business will be structured to deliver the target business model comprising organisation, process and technology.
  • Analyses current state operating models against target model to identify gaps and opportunities to support an effective transition towards the target state.
  • Integrates operating model work with IT strategy / architecture conducted by Technology, in particular with the FSA (Future State Architecture); process work conducted by Process Consultants, Service Delivery and the Business; focusing on alignment and new business capabilities.
  • Ensures timely decisions on architecture of capabilities developed within Global Insurance and collaborates where necessary with broader WPB on cross-pillar decisions.
  • Supports Global Insurance Architecture Leadership in ensuring that business architecture is communicated and well understood so that change activity is informed by target business and operating models.
  • Supports the Global Insurance leadership in influencing and collaboration with stakeholders and business partners.
  • Fosters open and honest communication which anticipates stakeholder expectations.

Customers and Stakeholders

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to support governance processes and resolution of architectural issues across the Global Insurance portfolio.
  • Support domains with architecture decisions required to progress delivery of new capabilities at pace.
  • Collaborate with Business Architecture teams in other WPB business lines as required and technology architecture teams.
Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong banking and insurance business, product and technical knowledge.
  • A strong knowledge of Target Business and Operating Models and transformation business case.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture modelling.
  • Overall financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise.
  • Excellent understanding of Architecture Frameworks and best practice techniques.
  • A thorough understanding of the purpose, culture and fundamentals of Business Architecture
  • Ability to grasp complex business and technology problems and design solutions to address the same.
  • Analytical skills to derive insight from large amount of imperfect data and information.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work on multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
  • Knowledge of Mandarin is very encouraged, but not essential.

Experience

  • Diverse experience and a variety of skills related to supporting large and complex change including people, process and technology development.
  • Experience in business / enterprise architecture or management consultancy / change design.
  • Experience of working in business, data, process, organisation architecture and design.
  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors.
  • Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective.      

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
