We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

Business: Group Data Technology

Principal responsibilities

Provide architecture leadership for major change programs (global and regional), maintain product focused view of architecture and roadmaps and support GDT ET delivery teams in realizing solution design and building architecture capability. They will represent GDT ET in Group Data Technology level architecture discussions, and ensure that operations, development, and integrations adhere to group standards.  

Should be a strong leader who will establish and execute a vision to plan, deliver, and support solutions in a complex, distributed technology environment. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals. 

Accountable for  

• Overall design and integrity for major change, typically global products with significant development footprint in regional.
• Building architecture capability for GDT ET.
• Ensuring that global development is aligned to architecture.

• Advanced degree in Computer or Information Science, plus a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience.  Experience in the Financial Services industry with knowledge of Financial Crime Risk.
• Solution design and information modelling skills, utilized in a design capacity role on projects with complex, inter-connected change
• Strong database skills; familiar with mainstream DB technologies; experience on Big Data (Hadoop) project with hands on experience on Hive/Spark SQL.  
• Familiar with Visualization tools such as Tableau and Qlik platform.
• Familiar with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) would be beneficial. 
• Broad knowledge of architecture across all domains: business, data, technology 
• Knowledge and understanding of business requirement analysis and design documentation of data and system architectures. 
• Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and consulting skills, with a proven track record of using data to provide actionable business results. 
• Good stakeholder management skills with ability to interact and influence across different organizational levels on technical or business solutions.
• Experience in validating an overall solution from the perspective of performance, scalability, security and capacity. 
• Experience in leading teams within a complex environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 

Soft skills 

• We need very good communication skills.  
• Being analytical, a good problem solver, and has critical thinking, being able to analyze pros and cons and see the overall picture.
• Has rich experiences on a wide range of different technologies, this is important as we need the candidate to be able to design solutions in different IT areas. 

Technical skills (We have already listed in Skills Required section above, but to emphasis): 

• Hands-on experience on Big Data Stack (Hadoop, HDFS, HIVE DB, Ranger, Knox, etc.).
• Public Cloud Hosting, either GCP or AWS is preferred.
• A good understanding on Networking and Cybersecurity.
