We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director
In this role you will:
• Drive the UK Mortgage engineering organization to ensure adherence to laid out practices.
• Understand the delivery processes, code management, testing practices in details to lead the engineering of it.
• Co-ordinate with Architecture, Technical Product Manager, and Delivery Managers for agreed approach and output of engineering.
• Develop control mechanisms to protect deadlines.
• Assess Engineering performance and aim to maximize ROI.
• Develop, track and execute the Technical Back log aligning with overall Project plan
• Ensure the backlog is delivered in prioritized order.
• Ensure to remove the bottlenecks in backlog refinements across PODs.
• Ensure code quality, governance to deliver as per the Definition of Done across PODs.
• Report and escalate risk & issues to Engineering Manager for mortgages.
• Ensure adherence to architectural steers.
• Builds Agile and Devops culture by promoting incremental development, automation, tooling, continuous improvement and reuse.
• Ensure production implementations as per organizations procedures and standards.
• Ensure the development, testing and production platforms are provisioned, maintained as per agreed standards.
• Guide and develop testing practices – steer and mentor global Test Manager Function .
• Accomplish staff results by setting job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

Qualifications - External
• Hands-on delivery experience on Portlets, Spring boot APIs, Core Java / J2EE, JHX tags, Jenkins, G3.
• Hands-On ability to resolve legacy code management and application code maintenance must have.
• Proven record of driving automation / efficiencies in a legacy application environment
• Thorough understanding of Agile and Devops methods.
• Strong understanding of dev / CICD /quality tools and code management
• Thorough understanding of delivery and deployment in Continuous Integration.
• Thorough understanding of engineering processes, quality procedures, automation testing tools.
• Ability to manage multi culture, high performing and diverse teams.
• Proficient skills on Agile project management and Tools – JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
