We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Project Manager

Principal responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of Asset Services initiatives to ensure a successful delivery and realization of expected business outcome.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders in Product, Technology and Operations on the delivery planning and identification of solutions, which align Product roadmap, future state architecture and operations vision.
  • Manage project lifecycle including business analysis, business case approval, requirement gathering, solution design (in collaboration with Product, IT and Ops), testing and implementation
  • Manage, identify and escalate risks and issues relating to the delivery of the individual initiatives, taking proactive action to mitigate and don’t impede delivery.
  • Regular reporting of project activities in HSBC group systems in line with HSBC Change Framework
  • Understands, follows, and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulation and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically internal controls and any compliance policy.
Requirements
  • Experience with Corporate Actions processing is a plus
  • Domain knowledge of Post Trade, Equities or Fixed Income within a Custodian, Broker Dealer or Asset Manager environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with software development programme in agile / waterfall approach is a must.
  • Excellent negotiation, influence, mediation and conflict management skills
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly depending on audience (e.g. internal stakeholders, clients etc)
  • Understanding Risk and making decisions in highly complex situations where there are potentially major consequences for the business.
  • Strong analytical thought process with an ability to manage ambiguity and an aptitude for problem solving
  • Willingness to challenge and ask probing questions to validate priorities, proposed solutions and realisation of benefits.
  • Flexibility in approach, and the ability to show initiative and respond quickly to changing situations.
  • Thrives working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working across different groups and time zones with ability to work autonomously while being mindful of when to seek guidance and approval
  • Act with courageous integrity in decision making.
  • Take personal accountability, be decisive, use common sense, empower others. Communicate openly and honestly.
  • Be inclusive and collaborative Experience with delivering change in Agile frameworks: this may include formal qualifications and/or certified online courses and/or evidence of practical experience.
  • Sound understanding of IT infrastructure and software development, especially micro-service architecture
  • Project Management Certification: PMI, PRINCE2, is preferred but not a must.
