HSBC GTS is a global core product and solutions capability for Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) clients within the market.  We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join GTS in the role of Vice President GTS Chief Control office, US.  The role will be based in the New York and will report into the Chief Control Officer of GTS Product Risk for the US on a functional and entity basis. The role of Vice President GTS Chief Control office Reporting to the Global Trade Solutions (GTS) Chief Control Officer (CCO), the role holder will be responsible for supporting adherence to the operational risk framework in GTS, including supporting adherences to the Incident Management and event escalation processes, ensuring timely reporting and follow up actions are agreed and completed throughout the customer life cycle with HSBC.

As our VP, GTS Chief Control Office you will:

  • Support key relationships across GTS and CCO, both regionally, and Globally, Country Control offices and functional areas - Legal, Compliance, Financial crime, Resilience/ cyber
  • Validate design and operating effectiveness of key controls by supporting Control Owners in control monitoring and assessments, including ensuring assessments are accurate, effective, comply with procedures, and meet quality control requirements
  • Event and Issue tracking, including, creating consolidated MI view and supporting governance cycle for review
  • Perform and execute read across of issues/events for applicability to the US, and any actions needed as a result
  • Support internal, external and regulatory audits
  • Support GTS CCO and other Governance forums
  • Support coordination of quarterly FIM and policy and procedure changes to ensure GTS team are in compliance with the updated requirements in accordance with the documented timelines
  • Support Risk and Control Assessments (RCA) and regulatory compliance assessments, and any applicable trigger events impacting GTS Risks
  • Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment; and identify and share best practices with business, function and stakeholder, and heighten control standards
  • Promote desired behaviors and positive risk culture across GTS

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $128,100 and $192,200. 

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

 You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Knowledge of GTS or equivalent, including products, processes, systems, controls and how risks materialize
  • Preferably gained through experience in first line GTS roles, for at least 5 years
  • Good understanding of the Group’s Non-financial risk Framework and control environment
  • Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment especially in the financial services sector
  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and influencing skills set
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently within a team environment
  • Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve complex problems whilst adhering to timelines and quality of output
  • Sound knowledge of CIB business and how they interact with the GTS products
  • Business experience in a variety of roles (CIB Banking) centered on delivery of high-quality customer service
  • Sound knowledge of banking regulations, operations, audit and control concepts
