We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Vice President Liabilities & Payments Product Manager
Role Purpose
This role reports into the Head of Liabilities & Portfolio Growth in WPB. The role will have direct responsibility to manage and grow the Deposits & Payments business of WPB through expert product management, margin and P&L optimization, and end-to-end management of customer programs, aligning with the Group strategy of a wealth-led customer centric business, whilst complying with local and international market regulations and Global Product policies.
The individual will be expected to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders in MNL, in ASP, and within the Group, as well across different Lines of Business, ranging from Markets, Product, Propositions, Marketing, Operations, Distribution, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to ensure both on-going management and growth to meet and exceed FRP expectations.
Principal Accountabilities:
Impact on the Business / Function
Product Development & Management
- Refine and deliver specific Deposits strategy to fully commercialise opportunity
- Directly responsible for product management and P&L growth of Deposits & Payments, through close coordination with Markets, Product, Propositions, Marketing, Operations, Distribution, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to meet and exceed FRP targets.
- Reviews and optimizes Deposits & Payments margins and P&L and offers to grow volume & revenue whilst aligning with the Group and Country WPB strategy
- Manage, review and enhance Deposits & Payments related processes, provide business oversight & support on system changes/enhancements to continue to improve customer experience and enhance efficiency aligned with the Bank’s strategy
- Manage and grow Deposits & Payments business across the available WPB channels with a focus on digital, including but not limited to online & mobile banking, ATM, branch and contact centre channels.
- Provision of product support initiatives such as customer campaigns, internal product briefings, and training support for Distribution teams.
- Tracks sales volume and income of Deposits & Payments products, and ensure compliance to applicable market & internal compliance guidelines.
- Manage cross-sell and up-sell strategy of Deposits & Payments through portfolio management of Premier and non-Premier clients.
- Regular uploading of high propensity clients to the leads management system of the bank sales staff.
- Ensure adherence to regulations and regulatory compliance.
- Supports frontline sales team directly with clients as and when required.
Customers / Stakeholders
Marketing/Sales and Customer Support
- Ensures support to WPB Sales through client campaigns such as providing regular and thematic customer campaigns, promotions, and events.
- Product briefing and training before the launch of a product / variant / campaign, and developing sales literature and collateral content (in coordination with Marketing) that the bank sales staff can use.
- Supports marketing and relevant teams with Deposits & Payments related Customer Lifecycle Management activities
Manage internal partnerships
- Contributes in managing the relationship by ensuring the needs and preference of Premier and non-Premier clients are aligned with the selling proposition, products, and campaigns of the Bank. Ensure goals and targets of the frontline teams are aligned with Deposits & Payments strategy
Act as ASP coordinator
- Coordinates with ASP by liaising with ASP counterpart on products and best practices in the region, ensuring compliance to ASP guidelines.
Maintains HSBC Internal Control Standards
- This includes the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Information
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable in Deposits & Payments products and processes
- Knowledge and experience in Product Management or Project Management is an advantage
- Knowledge of local market and regulatory requirements related to Deposits and Payments
- Able to translate global, regional and local priorities to product management activities in the country
- Able to make decisions including when under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience in working in highly regulated and complex international organisation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Expert in Excel and PowerPoint
- Fast learner and able to balance multiple competing demands to find the best solutions
- Innovative and proactive thinker – raises ideas, challenges, and opportunities
- High ethical standards

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band level than stated above.
