We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Product Control and Disclosures, Finance. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible supporting the wider Finance Reporting Risk and Control framework by:
    • Managing and coordinating of product approval papers from and a finance perspective.  Including the provision of an accounting opinion in line with IFRS17 principles and MAS basis.  This includes collaboration within finance and non-finance functions
    • Establishing appropriate financial reporting controls based on risk assessments to ensure that the Group’s Framework is met and fully adhered to at site Finance level
    • Liaising with Finance teams to ensure that all key risks are identified, mitigated, and monitored by an appropriate control environment that is commensurate with risk appetite
    • Supporting on evaluating and assessing the accounting impact of new product launches and changes to product features
    • Proactively identifying and communicating risks which could pose financial reporting impact, working with the respective finance teams to mitigate
  • Required to support the financial reporting team in the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting disclosure requirements including, but not limited to:
    • Leading narrative on external disclosures from a Finance perspective
    • Driving the changes to financial reporting in line with the sustainability agenda, from a business unit, group and regulatory perspective
  • Building effective working relationships within the Finance team at both a local and group level
  • Required to engage regularly with other stakeholders including second line Risk function and first line Product and Compliance teams, to ensure strong communication and timely resolution of issues
  • Provision of updates to relevant governance committees is essential in this role therefore, there will be a requirement to prepare formal governance papers for assurance review committees, for example product approval, local Executive and Audit Committees
Requirements
  • Eight to ten years of relevant working experience in the Finance, Risk & Compliance, Actuarial or Audit functions
  • Experience in Financial reporting, Actuarial reporting, product development in the insurance industry would be a preferred
  • Understanding of core principles of IFRS17 beneficial
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with a diverse group of colleagues at different levels
  • Possess good understanding of SOX, audit, compliance and risk requirements
  • Ability to adapt to changing business circumstances at pace is required
