The US Financial Crime Detection Production Management function is responsible defining roadmaps and functional designs, manage requirements & user stories and conduct & coordinate testing. The function also manages data products across Compliance: reporting quality, managing access, privacy, and security.  The function also monitor health and performance of US Financial Crime systems, identifying and resolving issues and incidents.  Activities also support regulatory supervision and policy development.  The broader team is responsible for the configuration, oversight, governance, and control of all processes related to the US Financial Crime systems.

The Vice President Product Management manages the gaining of insight into customer needs and champions customers preferences in order to direct the product vision of what Technology is to build. Additionally, the The Vice President Product Management manages the championing of the product with internal stakeholders and ensures that the product remains commercial.

As our Vice President Product Management you will:

  • Leadership role on team management & product/project management
  • Accountable for making and keeping the product a success by ensuring that it offers a strong value proposition to the customers and users and that it creates the desired business benefits
  • Responsible for delivering value to the business, engaging with the customer to ensure the team is building the correct product
  • Responsible for the product vision of what is to be built, and conveys that vision to the Agile software development team
  • Responsible for leading the design of large user stories (epics) which are broken down into smaller stories (product backlog), which is a prioritised features list for the product which is used by Agile Teams to develop technology solutions
  • Be aware of related industry trends, distilling this knowledge and sharing with the wider team
  • Manage the promotion and communication of the product to the wider organisation
  • Drive innovation/improvements in the systems and data infrastructure supporting deployment of the Financial Crime models, streamlining, research functions, and innovation 
  • Coordinate projects aimed at aligning methodologies, governance and policies around the group 
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and their impact on the business

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $125,600.00 and $188,300.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Team building and People/extensive project management experience
  • Excellent technical and non-technical presentation skills for stakeholders
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in data analysis and/or application development
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in technology infrastructure, including cloud
  • Degree in a numerical field (Math, Statistics, Computer Science or related)
  • Experience in Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and functional programming
  • Experience in Supervised Learning: Regression Analysis, Generalized Linear Model, Decision Trees, SVM, etc
  • Strong analytical skills with complex data type and format Clustering: K-means, Hierarchical clustering, etc 
  • Use of Oracle, MS SQL, R, Python Server to query and analyse large data sources
  • Database skills (SQL or PL/SQL and Oracle), including working with advanced data sets, pivot tables, advanced database, and statistical functions/methods
