Your career opportunity
This role is within the Open Banking (OB) Performance and Planning function to work with country and regional Open Banking teams across the MEA region, whilst also supporting the home market regions. The role takes the lead in defining all new work requests across the in scope regional portfolio, working with OB technology teams and leadership on a continual basis. 

This role will own the process for all new business propositions coming into MEA, owning the respective JIRA pages and production of relevant MI for regular and ad hoc analysis. 

Reporting to the Head of Performance and Planning this role involves operating within a small specialist team across all HSBC business areas and with a global remit. It is responsible for delivering c.US$16m of CtB demand on an annual basis to ensure a full delivery portfolio for a tech team of 200 people with a mix of regulatory and discretionary projects. to leverage the technology infrastructure to drive customer value. 

What you’ll do
Manage the Front Door for MEA region within the Group, working with WPB and WSB Open Banking channel teams to collect and refine high level business propositions and reg requirements, document scope, H/L requirements, assumptions, key dependencies, and size demand (from all GBs). 
Ensure funds are interlocked and demand is allocated to the relevant Tech teams, working in partnership with IT architecture GB value stream owners (to ensure business prioritization), IT COO (ensuring funding interlock before passing into IT for delivery). 
Support IT Delivery Leads with scope control, change request management and to ensure change work is funded and follows defined process regarding prioritization and resource optimization. 
Manage regional Open Banking portfolios including prioritisation, overall funding position, status and escalations to ensure that both business and tech have a funded and change controlled roadmap of delivery. 
Identify and proactively address congestion, escalating to the Head of Performance and Planning where appropriate for resolution. 
Overall pipeline planning for the year ahead, by agreeing key reg and discretionary initiatives and expected delivery timelines with each business line, provide a t-shirt size of OBSS costs, so business lines can submit expected OBSS spend for upcoming year as part of AOP planning well ahead of year end. 
Understand business priorities and manage stakeholder expectations by providing a clear view of in-flight work, so LoB leads can decide how they utilize booked Regulatory bandwidth and new reg and discretionary changes 
Proactive identification of opportunities and support for HSBC delivery of innovative open banking propositions to enhance our customer proposition. 

What you need to have to succeed in this role
Role holder is required to show virtual leadership across disparate business, Digital, IT and 2LoD colleagues to distil requirements, identify salient highlights - dependencies and assumptions and develop sequencing
Deep domain knowledge of the Open Banking, CoP, Fraud services provisioned via OB and related product, Open Banking ecosystem and key stakeholders in each market. 
End to end understanding of HSBC Digital estate and how open banking interacts with it.
Functional knowledge and understanding of Cloud networks and components, including cost structure usage policies (AWS specific knowledge a primary benefit). 
Good understanding of enabling legal and regulatory frameworks relating to data privacy, adoption of cloud services, payments and banking. 
End-to-end understanding of customer journeys from external environment through to HSBC estate, and operational support processes. 
OBSS provide commercial leadership across open banking monetisation activity across markets, ensuring activity is customer focused, enhances HSBC proposition in the market, and is delivered strategically to create transferrable and growing capabilities, all within a cost and risk-controlled environment. 
The role holder must demonstrate strong business knowledge, commercial acumen and, also domain knowledge about Open Banking and similar services. There are >10 channels spanning multiple countries and business areas which require management and oversight.
